Mom wants Texas and Dad wants Stanford apparently. It's close but think it'll be Stanford at the end for all the reasons you just mentioned. It's always tough turning down a full ride to Stanford while also competing for conference championships and more. But Moms also have a pretty good record with getting their way too...
Little is going to Stanford. It's a good call on his part. The kid is a 4 year starter and the closest thing to a can't miss prospect. A lot of players have atributes you like, good fundamentals yada yada yada. This kid just pancakes d-lineman and defensive ends. There is no evaluation or projection. He has practiced with one of the best defensive lineman in the country (who is also not going to Texas). You can't judge Herman on this class. He still has a lot of time and kids these days flip commitments all the time but expectations should be reasonable. Herman is not going to woo anyone in recruiting visits. He needs to let on the field success to back him up. Charlie had a weird hypnosis he would do to get these talented kids commit despite the struggles on the field. It's quite a gift.
I always heard that Charlie would win over the parents with his talk of discipline and graduating players.
Tinman, "they hate us because they ain't us"? No we hate alums/fans like YOU. I have tons of friends (and family members) who are UT alums. No problems with any of them. They aren't arrogant pompous AHOLES like you who think their $hit doesn't stink all because they went UT. They don't put down other schools, and realize how grateful they are to have been able to go to college and what a blessing it is to have a degree FROM ANY SCHOOL!!!! Most of us "little" folk realize that UT is a wonderful institution. We have no issues with the school or the sports programs, but rather with the loud mouth egotistical alums/fans who are just like you. You have to be one of THE most hypocritical individuals I've ever come across. It's obvious you LOVE Hakeem (as you should as the Rockets nor the city of Houston would be able to claim the ONLY two world championships it has), and yet you blast and belittle the school he went to? ON A HOUSTON ROCKET SITE NONETHELESS!!!! "UH= Jacksonville St"? Well there's one thing that UT has in common with Jacksonville St, and that is that neither of them are one of the EIGHTY programs who were good enough to play in a bowl game. And for the LAST FREAKIN TIME YOU POMPOUS IDIOT, nobody from UH is pissed at Herman for going to UT. They are however extremely disappointed in the way that he left, and how he treated the institution that gave him his first head coaching opportunity. It NEVER had to play out the way that did, and for people like you who don't understand this well oh well.
Please move this conversation to the Your School Sucks thread. These arguments are entertaining at times but they don't need to be scattered in the various school threads.
Ya Charlie always killed it with the parents. He was also a master of coordinating commits late in the process which is part of the reason why this class is so small right now. It's dead period right now which will give Herman time to get his staff together for a final push.
Of course you guys are pissed about Herman, why are you on the UT thread? UH is a job, like your job, when you find a better job, you leave. My love for the Rockets are cemented by the fact I'm a 99er. This has nothing to do with the Rockets.
