For sport? I don't condone killing any animal for sport. Its a disgusting behavior.

I understand killing animals because they are a nuisance or pest control issues.

Then why do you burn it? How would you like being lit on fire?

So, if you saw a random dog and a random human about to be hit by a truck and you could safely push only one of them out of the way, which would you choose?

It's still a life that was needlessly ended for someone else's pleasure, IMO. My viewpoint is admittedly skewed due to the fact that I'm a vegetarian through religion and by choice, but I truly believe that humans should have evolved past blood lust. We're at the top of the food chain because of our intellectual prowess, and with that increased intelligence comes increased empathy for other living creatures.

You're not alone, but I'm not in the club with you. I keep a pretty clear hierarchy. I don't want animals to suffer or to die needlessly but people come first. If animals must suffer so that people can live, so be it. If I have to choose between my dog and some stranger, I pick the stranger. Sorry Anna; we had good times.

I don't think OP said anything to suggest he was not a sinner himself, or that his empathy for animals made him superior. In fact, the implication I took from the OP is that he was asking if it is in some way degenerate of him to value animal life so highly. I think you dumped a lot of baggage on him.

That's a tricky question but I'll say this, couple months ago I heard on the radio that woman and her dog drowned in in their car after she drove underwater during a flood. I felt more bad for the dog then the lady.

Hmmm. Do you think this is more a reflection of your compassion towards animals or perhaps a lack of compassion towards people who make bad choices?

I get it, though. She is certainly more responsible for that tragedy than the dog, who had no control over the situation.

I'm not saying my attitude toward that situation is due to her being at fault. I would feel the same if the dog caused the accident.

I think someone made a great point earlier. I don't have kids so I don't feel the same about kids or humans than a dog who I owned and cared for more than 8 years.

    Good question.

    Random everything? Human
My dog/random human? I'm pushing the human down to get to my dog

    Circumstance depicts choice.

I kinda agree with OP. I get very attached to my animals. They love me unconditionally, whereas I can't stand most humans

Sorry bro! Our pups love us unconditionally.

They deserve to be held in high standard.

    That's just how it is.

Well, is that random person wearing any gear that has dallas on it? Cause, this is a pretty easy answer if so.
