Yeah, BJ should have been like the other agents, just a dead fish floating downstream when it comes to their clients getting manipulated by restricted free agency. He should have done what they would have done, just sign the qualifying offer and hope he can get a big contract next summer. Gimmeabreak with all that stuff man. Just shut it up. I'm going to bookmark this quote. And next time you propose something that is illegal, whereby the league can impose their "No Loophole" clause, I'll bring it back up. And you'll say, the league never uses that rule....they need proof. So, do you now understand what that "No loophole" clause is, and maybe stop trying to circumvent it in your trade ideas. You generally never use spirit and intent in any arguments unless the wording of the agreement or law is vague. So, how does that sort of argument apply in this case? I'm almost certain that it doesn't.
I am interested to find the full story here, so much does not add up. Morey is not the sort to worry about players being upset when it is an asset and contract he can use this summer in a matching trade scenario - and RFA's do not suddenly become UFAs, ever. This feels like a league "Basketball reasons" play here, and the fact that the players association is now involved can never be good. So, gonna sit back and see what happens......to me, this could have and should have all been solved before the season between Morey and BJ, but they both decided to lob nukes instead. DD
