anyone getting it? I've seen mixed reviews... but at least they're all above average. Honestly many reviewers didn't like FFXII and I loved that one.
I wanted to get it but out of stock during the whole BF weekend for like $35. I'll wait till the price goes down.
I'm thinking about picking it up around Christmas. I'll wait and see the public's reaction to it first.
Was off today so have played it for 3-4 hours. Very impressed so far. If y'all liked Kingdom Hearts, you will definitely like this. The only issue I have with the game so far is the car controls.
Got it delivered on Saturday somehow and have put about 8 hours into it. It is much better then I ever thought it would be, and I wasn't expecting much from it. Combat is fun and keeps you interested. Lots of quest fetch type of stuff. Graphically it is very nice but its been a lot of open grassy hilly areas so far. They definitely made this user friendly...the system was built so anyone can play whether you are a long time JRPG fan or new to the series
Just started. New to the game. I can tell u I want to bang the crap out of the gas station girl. This game better have some sex in it, lol. Overall I'd say the game is compelling enough to keep moving forward. The fighting is sound and I have lost battles in the mines already. The graphics feel legit in the occupied areas, although I'm not mind blown by the environment. Lost my fireball spell somewhere and don't know how to get it back. Lot's of spikey hair going around. So far so good.
I'm still rocking the XBOX360... Could this be the game that finally brings me into the current gen? Probably not. Plus I'm still bitter traditional turn-based rpg's are dead.
No, most FFs are stand alone games. This one has nothing to do, story wise, with the previous entries
Anyone playing this? I am 15 hours in and is loving it so far! Apparently it has become the fastest selling Final Fantasy game ever.
I was loving this until it became linear, i think chapter 9, then it just became a terrible mess. All in all, it's the best game since 9 but it isn't anything special. It feels like they tried to combine 6,7 and 13 into a game and failed. As a FF game i give it a 5.5/10. As a regular game i'd give it a 7/10. 1. FF7 2. FF6 3. FF9 4. FF8 5. FF10/15 The rest are trash.
To avoid being spoiled I didnt read too much about whats going to happen later in the game, but remember reading somewhere that says even when it gets linear you can still teleport back to the open space whenever you want. Is that true?
I imagine you can but I never did until after I beat the game bc once it becomes linear it moves quick and I was just focused on beating the game so I'm not entirely sure.
The worst story of all final fantasy games. The story is about 2 hrs long. It's very incomplete. Don't buy it until GOTY edition comes out. But the Combat is intoxicating. That's the only good thing.
I've been entertained. I'll give it an 8. But I'll start with things I didn't like so far. Plot: Hard time keeping up with the names and who's who. Not always clear who I am seeking, fighting, who is supporting me, and why, until it's over and i need some kind of recap. Boss Battles: It's not always apparent how to fight a boss. And not in a good way. For example, the swamp boss. I spent an hour knocking that f'er down, wasting pheonix and elixr, and he kept getting his health back, when all I had to do is run at two red arrows that I couldn't even see as they are behind me. And then I tried to get into that underground place like 8x before I realized it didn't open until night, they should have given more clues to that. It was little disturbing not being able to figure that out. Items: There are so many items I don't know what to keep, sell, or use. It's not real clear. So I've been hoarding everything. But starting to figure out some items u just should sell, I think. Indeed: I don't really need to hear my friend say that like 1000 times while I run around. Driving: They really should give you more freedom here to make it more fun. It's on lockdown. Running to an event: When you have to go back to a place you've already been, and fight your way back, and it's a long hike just to kill a monster in the end, that run is not always fun. More chore. And then you have to hike it back to the car too. Magitech Empire: If they drop in on me one more time, I'm going to get pissed. I had no idea what a magic tech engine was for like 1/3 of the game, but one of those dudes kept yelling it at me. Factory Woman: Really, I need to do her work for her and my friends keep justifying why I'm doing it. That was boring as hell. Also, I doing a lot of shiot for a cat, so that better pay off. Reloading Spells in Gear: Couldn't they just do this for me. You get faster at it, but seems a little headache especially when the elemency area is in a different place and not connected to gearing it. Things I do like: Reality: Thought this would annoy me, but I like that they added things like fishing, cooking, photos, pushing the car, angst, non chalant main character, gas, hotel, driving, friends not liking you at times, and injuries. It hasn't been too bad, and seems to break up monotony. It certainly could have gone wrong, but I think they made it work and often mix it into the plot somehow. Fighting: This has felt real time, and strategic, and often times you will empty out your resources trying to figure out what to do. It's not always apparent how to fight at the outset, like I had no idea I could combine my spells for most of the game, nor how to use my stellar weapons, but you will figure it out. The fighting is generally a lot of fun. And more games think will adapt it, as this has been a good time. Girls: They are all interesting visually, and from a character standpoint, and sex appeal. I liked not wanting to give the flowers to the little girl. Some more realism there. Yet I think I like her best so far. They do a great job with their clothing, heels, panties, dresses, and hair. I mean they put in a lot of effort and it shows. Monsters: Good variety, and all with different attacks and styles. Friends: Generally interesting and varied. Like. There is some heart in there. The conversations are at times too much, but I do like that the character sort of change over time, and they have moods, and have a sense of realism. When they vanish you kind of miss them.
Same, I had heard that this game was pretty short but I guess that's if you blaze through the main story. It feels like this game is more about the journey not the destination.
I'm about to hit chapter 9, once you beat the story. What's the endgame? I'm like level 55 and don't want to waste my time finishing my side quests before going to altissa when there's no point to it.
