    (A) Hearing some in depth interviews with long-time CIA people, including former directors, they say there is an absolute no go unwritten rule on messing with one another's internal politics. Hack, sure. Try to influence elections? Unprecedented for US <-> Russia. Satellite states are a different matter. Laugh if y'all want, but I'll take the word of people who've actually done the work.

    (B) I just couldn't disagree more. Why do a number of Republicans care? Because of answer A. This is actually new and noteworthy, even if your points about some people's reasons might be accurate. Personally, if they hacked RNC and released that b/c they blatantly wanted HRC, I would probably giggle more (I admit it) but I'd still be alarmed. That's just screwed up.

    (C) Yeah, she was terrible. I know this is every Republican's main point, but I still just don't see it as relevant. Yes, she stunk it up as a candidate. Most definitely. So... that warrants Russian interference? It warrants ignoring Russian interference? I just disagree. And I disagree with the idea that they always do this. They just don't. Not according to most intelligence professionals. Now, if you believe they've always done this, then sure, I would agree that us shining a light on it in 2016 looks just like sour grapes. I honestly don't think they've done this before and I don't think they've had so much of a preference before. The preference is pretty weird, in itself, to this viewer.

    (D) Most Dems are doing some soul searching. Yes, some liberals think the electors should revolt or some stupid crap, but most of us don't think that. The election is done. He (barely) won a lot of the rustbelt and we have to have an orderly transition. An investigation would not interfere with that and would help figure out how to: 1. prevent a foreign power from hacking any of our political parties, and 2. demonstrate, with reprisals if necessary, that they don't want to go there. The problem is Trump denying the problem just invites states to try even harden in our next election, sadly. If he wanted to be a straight shooter on this, he'd join those wanting to figure out exactly what happened and how to prevent it. That's 180 degrees from insulting the CIA, LOL.

    (E) Okay, I'll take you at your word, but you sure go out of your way to bang on "liberals" and support the POTUS elect (which is your right, of course). The tech summit? I don't know. I'm really truly disappointed that he made a place for three Trump children at such a serious meeting, when they are (allegedly) going to be taking care of his business very separate from the governing of the US and all that. It's a terrible developing world look to drag your kids to these crucial meetings. Makes him look like a dimestore dictator, TBH. Sorry.
But he's put a couple of tech people in fairly decent advisory positions and that could be good. I'm also coming around a bit on his SOS pick b/c dude supports Paris accord (or at least he did) so maybe he can play the grown up in those meetings.

Again this isn't about the DNC or the information that was revealed - it's about the Russian effort to influence elections. This is not about overturning Trump's win.

It's about understanding how a foreign power can influence our politics which was something the founders of this country were 100% against.

In regards to Trump - he'd be fine if he wasn't raising suspicion by how cosy he's getting to Putin.

Ok. Just to clarify. A sealed ballot box containing 50 votes but registered as 306 votes is simply a "machine issue"? No voter fraud to see here. Moving along.
Wow. 37% of the precincts "forgot" to deduct the number when the ballot got stuck. Ive worked in offices that were more picky about copier counts than the election workers in Detroit. Clearly the election wasn't that important to them to get it right.

Maybe Putin hacked them. After all that is what Jill and Hillary were looking for. Who needs Putin to foul up your election when you have incompetent (democrat) poll workers to do it for you.

You are speculating. There hasn't been any claim of fraud.

Also, again, none of this would have been uncovered unless there was a recount. So why are you so against recounts if in your eyes it uncovers fraud? You are twisting in the wind with your contradictions.

They'll just ignore this - doesn't fit with their narrative that the White House is cavorting with the CIA and Hillary to discredit Trump

It's not a secret what the CIA does.

They did gave their assessment to government officials, in private.

Are you referring to some Congressional meeting? Do you realize that the GOP is the majority party in Congress and has the power to set inquiries and schedule for them? The DEM are the one that want the investigation now and ASAP, while the GOP want to take it slower. If you have an issue with that, you need to look at the GOP congressional leaders.

It's pretty clear that Congress and many people across political spectrum understand the CIA assessments and take it very serious. If you honestly believe it makes no sense to anyone (to you, ok), god bless your mind.

Keep going. Defend Russia go! Don't defend the USA, go! You can do it!

    LOL!

I'm not saying Russia changed the result of the election. I haven't seen anyone on this bbs make that claim. The intel community hasn't made that claim. Why are you griping about it, when the liberals on this board aren't saying that Hillary lost fair and square. I don't know why you quoted my post in and then freaked out about how much you don't like Hillary.

Guess what I don't like her either. I didn't vote for her in the primary, and didn't vote for her in the general election. Whatever gripes you have about Hillary or the Democrats isn't relevant to another nation hacking, and trying to subvert our democracy in the United States.

You've made it clear that you don't care if foreign governments try and meddle in our elections.

It isn't okay if it was done before, even though you've not listed a single example of anything close to what the Russians did this election as evidence that it happens every election. To me. I actually value our democracy, and our right to have an un-compromised election. I do support the idea of American democracy. You clearly don't. You've made it clear. You are entitled to feel that way and voice that support for Russia and against the United States. I'll just disagree with you, and you should be called out if you do it, but that's part of the game.

What DNC did was way more flagrant and definition of rigged as compared to what Russia has allegedly done. You expect it from one but not the other.
What's so hard to understand. Every advanced country in the world commits espionage against each other. Hell the good 'ole USandA has 100% installed Latin American leaders all over Latin America. Were you outraged when we did? But yet, you come at us with "alleged" off the record reports from CIA who refuse to publiclly comment. You sound like an Alex Jones disciple conspiracy nut with that type of talk and thinking.

And I'm glad Trump is getting cosy with Putin. I think it's ridiculous we don't have greater relations with Russia. We ahve great relations with the Saudis and their backwards ass rule of law, surely we could have great relations with Russian socialists. For example, fack OPEC and their woman hating, backwards ass lawless, world threatening governments. Russia and huge Oil reserves, let's work with them instead. Russia combined with limited local exploration as well and you can meet all energy needs and have better friends than those disgusting OPEC countries. I'd rather spend billions helping Eastern Europe rebuild because they are more friendly to the Western way of thinking and life than continuing to send money to backwards ass OPEC countries.

Plenty of liberals spoke out against the US overturning legitimate democratic elections.

That isn't in question now. Again, you are defending Russia, and not defending the USA against espionage from a foreign adversarial nation.

I never made that clear actually. That said, the good 'ole USA probably has the longest track record of actually (proven not alleged) meddling in other countries affairs including their elections and leadership. We have tried to "install" freedom and democracy all over the ******* world even when the locals never asked for it or understood it. You can't get anymore outrageous and egregious than that. What the USA had admittedly done makes what the Russians allegedly did look like childs play.

So you're right I don't care because they all do it to each and historically we've done it the most. I'm not stupid or hypocritical enough to ignore that fact. Instead I accept that countries do it and that my country does it best or tries at least. For the record, I wish they would all stop but they won't so I hope USA does it better even if more recently most attempts have been disastrous failures.

What a great excuse. The USA has done it, and many who now govern have come to admit it was wrong, but somehow that makes it okay if Russia does it? Yeah, you've been saying that which is why I said you made it clear. You did, that's pretty clear. I guess you admitting it, just makes it easier for anyone who would defend you.

By saying that it happens all the time doesn't make it okay. Murder happens all the time. That doesn't make it okay. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't pursue and take action against those that commit murder.

Attitudes like this is why much of the world hates the USA. We rape and pillage others and the victim would be lucky to even get a sarcastic sorry. Others try similar (much less honestly) things towards us and we give them the HOW DARE THEY!!!

I will be crystal clear and say it again, it's NOT okay to do what Russia allegedly did. Just like it's not okay to do the horrible things we've done in our history to sovereign nations in the dame of "freedom." But before we go rioting and trying to break and change our own constitution can we at least get some proof for godsakes. You're outraged and arguing alleged plots. **** if we do that we'll be here all day. So for now I'm out of this thread for now until someone can show me some actual proof. Until then you guys can argue hypothetical and alleged incidents.

One more thing, I swear I never thought I'd see liberals turn anarchists. It's quite amusing to me watching so many "normal," education, well to do people, melting down and advocating for anarchy.

Let me ask you this. Do you think anyone in the CIA would come out and admit they meddled in others elections if they ever did? Of course they wouldn't. That kind of information is classified and they would go straight to jail. (insert Hillary comment here)

Of course Russia has a preference. Every country has a preference. Look at all the foreign leaders criticizing Trump. Its silly to say other countries politicians do not have a preference.

That said, there are long lengthy threads about how the right is always trying to suppress the poor minorities. We have this thread going on how Russia allegedly released Podesta emails.

Why is there no significant anger with the unethical behavior by the DNC? They got exposed with the Sanders incident and then they continued by colluding with the media. Now you have massive inconsistencies in the Detroit recount.

I understand there is a significant gap between all party's voters and the actual party's politicians and organizations. The right is rejecting the RNC's nonsense. This is how Trump got elected. They are standing up to the RNC and them selling out to big money.

Its high time the Democrats did the same. The unethical behavior is systemic. Stop distracting and blameshifting their behavior. They have become what the RNC used to be. They have completely sold out to big money and their politicians and organization are more concerned about retaining power than giving a **** about the people they once cared for. Yes, you acknowledge Hillary was a bad candidate, but you need to understand it was the DNC who crowned her queen instead of letting a more ethical and electable candidate (one who wasn't bought and paid for) run on their ticket.

How? Trump's cabinet appointments are mostly billionaires that know nothing about the poor and middle class. Trump himself knows nothing about the struggle of the poor and middle class. He was born into daddy's money. None of his policies in his first 100 days seem to address anything towards helping the poor and middle class.

When did the RNC stop being buddies with big business in Wall Street? LOL Are you solely blaming the DNC for Wall Street now? Seriously?

As far as anger over Sanders goes, there was anger during the DNC primaries. I mean you can go dig up threads back then when the DNC primary convention was going on. I mean I still occasionally read posts from I believe glynch, who is a big Bernie supporter that's upset over the DNC even now. I mean the general election has passed and most Democrats have moved on from even talking about Clinton because she lost. The only ones that seem bring her up are GOP supporters. You're touting a narrative that no Democrat cares about corruption in the DNC which isn't true at all. It's simply the fact that Clinton lost and won't have any say in the future of this country. Contrast that with Trump who will and you can see why there's more threads discussing him.

Not that anyone cares, but this was a pretty good interview and I can't really stand Hannity at all. Assange says it's not the Russians and effectively says it was an inside source at the end of the interview. He also shot down those stories from Georgia about the DHS hacking.

Seriously... You sound like a 15 year old that just discovered skepticism.

I have a solution for your problem with not being able to see the evidence of an ongoing CIA investigation.

Become a US senator and obtain a top secret clearance. Because that the easiest path you have to accessing documentation of an active CIA investigation.

Don't let the Dunning-Krugger effect take over. Learn some basic SOP of government institutions before you blurt out your platitudes.

I have a solution for you. Stop watching and reading fake news like MSNBC, CNN, WashingtonPost, etc..., instead let folks do their jobs and announce their findings. Unless you like to see your country tear itself apart on pure anonymous sources and speculation.

Well I'm not sure who is advocating for anarchy. I haven't seen that. But I and many other liberals have bemoaned the USA interference in democracy in other nations. When it happened to Chavez in S. America, it was the liberals that were against that interference. It was the conservatives who thought it was okay because Chavez was a bad guy. When it happened in Nicaragua it was the liberals that were against the interference, and a Republicans that deceived congress to keep interfering.

btw.. the mainstream fake media and everyone else pushing this is giving Russia way too much credit and making them relevant again. Of course Russia will deny it but trust me they are happy to even be accused after years of being regulated to the kids table. So I hope all of you are happy, your making Russia relevant again when in reality they can barely handle their own ****.
