This team will never win anything with Brock Osweiler at QB!

I would agree that the O line is likely to take a giant leap forward next season and if Watt is back healthy, the defense should be elite. If given those things this season, the Texans are sitting at 10-3 right now or better. The majority of the mistakes Osweiler is making are tied to a poor O line and inexperience in the system along with WR's not getting open. Notice how he's much better when throwing to TE's, it's because they are managing to create separation. That's why I see plenty of reason to think that people will believe that Osweiler will magically look better next season even if he doesn't actually improve much.

    Meh.

I know one or two of Kizer, Trubisky, Watson, Webb, Falk, Kaaya, Mahomes, Rudolph, Kelly will be better than Brock in short order... but it seems impossible to tell which one.

I get why the scouts are high on Kizer.... but I'm just not blown away or anything. If he continued playing against everyone the way he did against the Longhorns, then sure.

The problem is due to embarrassingly low football IQ on the part of the vast majority of the fanbase, he's being criticized for playing like trash even when he's not playing like trash.....meanwhile the same people will take turns going down on someone like Dak Prescott who is sitting behind the best O line in the league....and when they fail to give him perfect protection like this past week, he plays like crap.

Really though, those kinds of "Texans fans" won't really matter, but they sure are annoying.

We really don't know that. Honestly this QB class looks like garbage. Sure they'll pick someone to hype, but that's how you end up with a scrub like Goff.

Hmm, well i agree he's been bad. but if you are going to cherry pick Fitzpatricks best season, then why can't I cherry pick Manning's.. both to fit our own narrative. I think the one thing that is most consistent, is most rookie-first 20 games are the player's worst.. so its not wrong to say he can and probably will get better.

Well back then it was a much less QB friendly league and rookies normally struggled. These days it's pretty normal to have a rookie QB put up good stats and show promise.

I think it's better to pick someone from recent years.

I did that too... I picked Derek Carr.. his stats were worse than Brock's as well.. but I'm sure if he did that here we would have been patient and waited til this, his 3rd year, behind the #2 offensive line, to be good...

I don't agree Derek Carr's stats are worse unless you cherry pick. Carr was much better as a true rookie than Brock has been this year.

Well give that feeling a year in order to find out if it's just gas or not.

Better TD/INT ratio. But I'll take 12-8 over 5-15 any 20 games you want.. If you wouldnt, then I can't agree with you... Also, I dont want to go through every boxscore, but going 5-15, Im pretty sure most of that better TD/INT ratio was garbage time.. Cherry picking or not cherry picking, no one should be judged on first 20 games.. Derek Carr, Peyton Manning, many others are a perfect example of that. Brock sucks hard right now, he's gonna get to play the 2 years, here's to hoping he earns the 72 mill by next year.

I agree he sucks hard, and he been lucky to play on teams with good defenses and running games so they can win despite him

I would be more optimistic if he actually showed flashes, but he doesn't show any

Brock needs everything around him to be elite for him to just be average.

    Best o-line
    Best rb
    Best receivers
    Best coach
    Best defense
    Best special teams.

If you need all that to mask the deficiencies in your "franchise quarterback" then he is not worth moving forward with, especially if you have super bowl aspirations.

Not to mention you will never get all that when your paying a qb $72 million.

The cowboys wouldn't be able to pay for that godly offensive line with dak and Zeke making big money.

Flatly inaccurate. With even a competent O line, competent receivers, and competent play calling then he'd be about average. Right now he's got no O line, not much from the receivers, and awful play calling.

Hell if you just gave the Texans back their elite defense (meaning the current squad just with everyone healthy) then the Texans would be in the hunt for a playoff bye.

I'm not even going to touch the QB contract ignorance, that's been debunked by so many people so many times by now it's simply embarrassing that you'd still get it wrong.

The offensive line is good enough

Even when he has a good pocket he throws an inaccurate ball.

He is not a good quarterback.

    Don't quote me.

No, it's not, it's garbage when it comes to pass blocking. It's okay when it comes to run blocking, but that doesn't help the pass game.

He almost never has a good pocket, and when he does, he rarely has a receiver open unless it's a TE. When he has a good pocket and receivers that managed to get some separation, it almost always ends well.

That is yet to be determined.

    I just did.

He had a good enough pockets more often then not.

There is no data to show that this offensive line is "terrible"

    Just more Brock excuses.

    He sucks at making reads.

He takes too long in his reads.

He holds on to the ball too long.

And when he does pass its inaccurate too far in front, too far behind, etc.

He's not good, and well never amount to anything. not with the Texans or any other team.

And at the end of the day I WILL BE RIGHT.

    Its inevitable.

And you'll still be here saying he just didn't have the right players / coach / organizations around him to succeed like colt mccoy fans.

LOL and these are the kinds of hot takes we keep hearing from Texans fans who have no clue what's going on when they watch football games. It seems like they are getting worse year by year instead of finally figuring the game of football out. It's just a damn shame.

Mark my words Brock will not be a Texan after the last year of his contract (he might not even play out the 4 years)

And he will not get another true starting job ever again.

Everybody just wait for this **** show to run its course

And let the "football experts" continue to embarrass themselves passionately defending a lost cause. :D:D:D:D:D:D
