China has essentially made a territory grab much larger in scale than what the Russia did with Crimea. They have rebuked and ignored international agreements and court rulings, and have now begun to weaponize their illegitimate territory.
Don't worry, Trump's gonna win w/ China. http://graphics.wsj.com/elections/2016/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-on-foreign-policy/ From the article: Mr. Trump has bashed China persistently from his opening speech as a candidate, describing it as one of the U.S.’s top adversaries, particularly when it comes to economic policy. Mr. Trump says he would label China a currency manipulator, crack down on hacking, and threaten the Chinese government with steep tariffs if it doesn’t agree to rewrite trade agreements. He would also expand the U.S.’s military presence in the South China Sea as a deterrent to China’s territorial claims to artificial islands there. He said he would toughen rules against the theft of intellectual property and combat subsidies China offers to boost exports. He opposes the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership, the trade agreement which includes the U.S., Japan and 10 other countries.
I think most of us will agree China is a much bigger threat than Russia is at this point. From military, espionage and hax0ring.
I could this coming a mile away but crap. Those communists are godless mother*. I have absolutely no doubt they'd use nukes if war broke out.
Chinese military is still garbage. But those two have to be broken off ASAP. I'm still hoping Russia identifies itself as Western enough. Putin has repeatedly said that they wanted to align themselves with the West if not for the West constantly antagonizing them from a cultural and military standpoint. We might have to let them keep Crimea and deal with Syria in order to deal with China. Let's get real, Syria is a money drain, the South China Sea trading routes would be catastrophic to the world economy if China gets control of it.
Yes, clearly they are, militarily. I don't work for an intelligence dept., so I can comment on cyber espionage. I'm sure it's very satisfying for some to know that Donald, Rex and the boys will partner up with their pal Vlad and make billionaires more money w/o the problems inherent in worrying about brown folk. It's very concerning for many others however how Trump will navigate the treacherous waters of the S. China sea after that campaign of boisterous rhetoric. Chinese state media has called him "as ignorant as a child." That's the type of rhetoric that these types of countries use to justify atrocities in the name of war. And Trump's not even president yet. War's good for business though, too, so we'll see, I guess!
This, along with Russia's land grab in Crimea are both a result of Obama's weakness in foreign policy.
PRC clearly bullied their way around since 2008 doing whatever they wanted. Obama has also successful split our allies in Japan and South Korea against each other further strengthening the communist's position. The settling of the comfort women issue he pushed just gave the lefties in South Korea more power and towards china and away from japan/usa. huge error.
Well, that makes sense considering all the clueless crap you wrote. The Crimean land grab was due to the EU. Aggressive expansionist policies including goading Kiev to overthrow their government led to Russia thinking that the EU was going to start absorbing countries by "people's revolution". There were actual EU officials on the ground at Kiev during the uprising. But yes it's not a fight that the US should have taken the side of the EU with.
China would lose because they are surrounded by allies over land, seas, and air. That said, no one wants that and so it would never happen. Land, deals, politics, it's all negotiated now. At worst would be a proxy war between two sorry sap poor countries.
I think one unaccounted for factor is China's modern manufacturing capacity, if they turn that towards total war production they become a more compelling combatant.
They're good at manufacturing consumer goods not arms. They will be beaten by air superiority since they don't have a working in-house fighter yet. The J-31 project has a major block in terms of the engines not producing enough thrust. That extends to them not having carriers which you need for naval superiority. They will get slaughtered in open war.
China and the U.S. have mutual economic interests. We are two nations connected. Russia is more dangerous as it only seeks domination and has an active interest in seeing the U.S. fail economically. China does not as China depends on us more.
LOL you are such a joke. You are obviously masturbating while you write this. Feel free to quote any reputable source saying China will be slaughtered in "open war."
No they don't. China's economic interest is economic domination... or domination outright. You're underestimating how amoral the Communist party are. These are people who beat down any political opposition and take organs out of prisoners alive. If there's a great source of evil in the world today, it's China (followed by liberals). No your argument's a joke, moron. I gave you a specific point about their problem with the J-31. You'd couldn't research it yourself.
Damn, I'd better look up the J-31! That sounds technical! Meanwhile, you didn't find anyone to back up your "China will be slaughtered in open war" claim, fascist poser clown. What's with the cartoon character avatar, by the way?
