RFA is different than UFA, yes, but not as much as people think it is. If teams truly wanted a player in RFA, it would never stop them from making an offer, especially an offer that makes the player's current team blink. Case in point, Asik, Lin, and Ego. Teams truly wanted those players so offers were made. Some were matched and others weren't. It's simple when the player is truly desirable. I agree that we overpaid for Ryno, but clearly the FO values what he is able to bring to the team and do for Harden and MDA as a legitimate stretch 4. Fact is, Ryno on our team significantly improves our offense and Harden's game. You can make a very valid question that this improvement caused by his game is worth his 20M, even if his specific talent and production is not.
Hey his not doing this for charity. The team is worth so much money because of its fan base. So ye, fans are a big part of the team. Not to say that they should have any say with the decision making but we are all invested in this.
I believe dmo is more concerned about his own health and values more on garrantteed money, do you have direct reference on that he doesn't want to be traded? I feel the way you phrased is a little bit biased.
I don't think there's any proof of that. It's all in DD's mind. Him having bias against Rockets organization is no secret. It's been like that for years. However I do have a question. If Rox have been cheep and treated players like "assets" like some accused, you would think players would want to be traded away and happily ever after somewhere else? Why the hell are DMo and his agent doing everything they can think of to prevent a trade from happening?
Here's a direct quote from DD: D-Mo failed his physical. So he's always gonna take the side of the players, even though (1) players come and go and Rox organization is the one and only (2) this said player isn't even on our current roster, and may never wear Rockets red again. Sad. Just sad.
There is no problem in saying, he embraces everything about the Rockets, their history, the players, maybe even the coaching staff. Except: he does not agree with the owner, maybe the whole FA and the GM.
So, if you disagree with any aspect of the team you should just drop your fandom? Dumbest thing I've ever read.
So did I but it touches upon RFA..... and Feigen is a shrewd journalist, saying not a word about a Lithuanian big
You speak as though all players have the same RISK to REWARDS ratio. Rockets felt that the ratio for Ego for Ego is better than Dmo. Isn't that highly plausible? Additionally, Ego must have passed his physical while the other one, well... we know how that went.
Yeah, I didn't understand that post at all when he made it. He says it like taking the side of an individual player equates to the team, like taking the side of a Coach and GM is against the team. No one player is above the Team. And certainly the Coach and GM are integral parts of the Team.
This whole situation is crap.... and I put it on DMo and BJ.... Morey offered like 7M for 1 yr and and 1 unguaranteed year.... He signs an offer sheet for around 8M + 3 unguaranteed years.... I gotta believe that if Morey had the option of getting those 3 unguaranteed years (at 7-8M/yr range) he woulda ponyed up the diff in year 1 earnings... This whole mess woulda been avoided... heck at this point I gotta believe the lost revenue for DMo for missing this much of the season is probably dropping him to around that 7M mark to begin with... Poor representation - period!
What is dumb is your reading ability. DD has not disagreed with just any aspect of the team. DD has constantly criticized multiple aspects of the team repeatedly despite much of his criticism being unsubstantiated or flat out wrong while constantly siding with players over the team itself. My statement is pretty damn logical, if you don't like so many things that supposedly define our team and are constantly whining about them, what is still keeping you here as a fan? Personally, the endless b****ing over the same thing is quite annoying frankly speaking.
