Can you clarify how we lied to him? We fed him the ball to poor results. He had one of the most post touches for a big man. The fact that he sucked at it is not on us.

Gordon has always been considered a top SG talent but he never could do it consistently.

Now he has been a pleasant surprise but no doubt he wasn't an allstar in his past years.

Sorry but have to disagree here. Just look at what unfolded this summer:
Rockets made QO - Dmo didn't accept. Well within his rights
RFA period - no contract signed; Clearly there wasn't much interest in him
Rockets offered 2 year deal - Dmo didn't accept. Well within his rights
RFA continues and still no deal until recently...

..the Nets offer sheet - Dmo's camp did a poor job negotiating that deal by implementing lots of incentive clauses that the Rockets were not required to match. Either that was bad negotiating or stupidity on the part of Dmo's camp by not knowing the CBA - probably it was a little of both.

Dmo wasn't content with the incentive clauses not being matched didn't show for his physical. Again, the Rockets were acting well within their rights. So to come to an agreement, the parties sat down and eventually signed a different contract. Clearly that contract did benefit the Rockets but it also benefited Dmo - with that deal he has/had (not sure what the current status is) a higher earning potential than he would have had with the matched Nets deal. If indeed the holdup is his physical, well sorry but that's not on the Rockets.

So no, with the information we have to this date, I don't agree that the Rockets have done Dmo wrong.

Yes, because the Rockets took a risk on an often injured player....hmmmm....that is weird...

Actually, Ariza should be making more. If you were in DMO's shoes, I bet your opinion would change. He deserved more than the qualifying offer.

They did offer 7m + Incentives, but they tied a 2nd unguaranteed year to it - judging by the scenario it looked like Morey really wanted DMo as a trade chip, nothing more, and DMo did not want to be traded, and here we are...

The Rockets are one legit player from being great. This DMO drama is only distracting us from what's important. Is "prime" DMO good? Yes, as a bench player. He doesnt move the needle though with this current team IMO. It's like crying over spilt milk when the whole refrigerator blew up. He should be completely focused on getting us to the promised land and moving forward, not lateral.

I wasn't implying that. What I was saying was the league didn't like the re-do on the contract. The league probably wanted the Rockets to just take the matching offer and move on. DMO is at fault for hiring a terrible agent and refusing to come in for the physical. Negotiations went no where this summer because BJ is awful.

He moves the needle a lot.

He would be our best post defender and rim protector - due to his length - not shot blocking, he would be able to shoot the 3ball allowing the Rockets to surround Harden with 4 3pt shooters and forcing teams with quality bigs to match up....GOBERT, JORDAN anyone - and he would be an extra option in the post when the 3balls are off....

He would make this team a LOT better - but I think that ship has passed.

I don't know what you mean by saying that you support the site but okay... I'm happy to pay money for the site too... I'm just at a loss for how people think they have ownership over decisions they really don't have. Not trying to pick on you BTW... But it's like going into the bar and tipping the bartender a dollar and saying that your voice should be heard in how the buy bar is run. Get what I mean? A lot of people take Morey for granted. Do I agree that everything he does gives us the best results? Absolutely not. But the process he uses to make decisions is way better than shooting from the hip, going on a hunch or some guy's eye test. I love CD but remember he is the guy that paid KELVIN CATO and MATT MALONEY! We are in a much better situation right now.

Let's get one thing straight here; it isn't about what you deserve, but what others are willing to offer you. If I was in D-Mo's position and I wanted to control my own future and couldn't find any contract offers I liked, I would have taken the QO and proved myself. He didn't and his agent screwed up again and again, leading to his current situation.

We didn't low ball Ariza. We made an offer that he accepted over what the Wizards wanted to pay him, which I believe was more money. The point is that people say DM's rep has prevented notable FA's from signing with us. I am saying that it hasn't for anyone that mattered.

Well we are now, but what happens when Ryan Anderson is giving us 8m a year in production and costing us 20m? It is cool, I don't hate Morey, and I do acknowledge that it seems his hands are tied by an incompetent owner, but I don't like how Morey uses the RFA for players.

Basically it tells the players they really don't want them, because the ones they DO want they offer extensions.

Yeah, who needs Kevin Durant anyway?

BUT NOBODY ELSE WANTS DMo EITHER! That's the point!

And as far as Ryan Anderson is concerned... We don't pay the guy to rebound... We literally pay that guy to hit 3's... And as long as he does that we are all good. Because this team is built like the league is now... It's about scoring and scoring a lot. Remember when we got the former DPOY? Yeah that route didn't work out well for us...

This team is clicking with chemistry. I can't say DMO will come back bad or good. What I can say is that he could be playing with a chip on his shoulder and not in a good way. Players play great when they are in their contract year and are waiting for a big payday. DMO has 1 guaranteed. So he plays out of his mind well gets locked up and still gets the same money (slightly less actually)? A salary in which he feels he is worth more then. Just seems like a lot of negativity to bring into a positive locker room.

He is a RFA - that is a lot different.

I like Ryno, but I do think we bid against ourselves in giving him 20m per year.

Are you actually suggesting KD didn't come to the Rockets because of Morey's rep? That's a pretty outlandish statement you are making there. KD wanted to go somewhere he could win a championship. That was NOT the Rockets. Our team had just finished crapping the bed the previous season, our roster was up in the air with us wanting to get rid of certain unworthy players, and we fired a coach to boot. We were not the team that KD was looking for. It had nothing to do with Morey.

Yes, I think it is a risk now for sure, DMo clearly does not want to be here, maybe he comes in and blends, maybe not, but if we don't sign him we lose a guy with a unique set of skills.

We would still need a real CENTER though.

When you sign a player and he doesn't play well for you then it was obviously a bad contract. But if he plays well then he is worth the contract or even a bargain. Why bring him up? 20MM? That's nothing... In a couple of years that is not going to affect us adversely especially if he is hitting 3's... The one thing we need him to do. And if he doesn't hit them... Trade him.

Nothing honestly, this whole league involved thing is weird, it is almost like they are waiting on the NEW signed CBA to finish this....maybe the Rockets worked by the letter of the agreement but not the spirit of it, so the commish is stepping in to make it abide by the new rules?
