hey guys, i want to make a great purchase. One that will last me many years. I need something to stop me from using my phone to stream basketball games because it strains my eyes and maybe use it for studying pdf files and books. Is it possible to have a data plan in it too without being too pricey? I have no use for a pen so i dont need the ipad pro. Please help.
If you read any volume of books that are not .pdf an e-ink Kindle is the eye strain magician. I don't see how people read even a single book on LCD/OLED
No, but it is cheap and lasts forever. I am saying if you read any e-books you should probably have one.
If you are going to read quite a bit, buy two devices. A cheap Android tablet for media consumption (Netflix, YouTube, etc.) and then an e-ink Kindle. You can get both for $150 or less.
I think a tablet with a good book reading app should take care of the eye strain. I've read plenty of books on my old Nexus 7 (original).
So you guys recommend an Android and not an Apple tablet for media consumption? Which brand would be the most optimal out there?
https://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-yoga-tablet-3-8-inch/ I know two people that have thm and like it.
Apple tablets are much nicer, but also more expensive. If you really like reading books, I swear, get yourself a kindle paperwhite just for reading. It is TOTALLY worth it. Tablet for Media, Kindle for books. If you aren't a huge reader, you might not need the kindle.
Im sold on the kindle, just want to see more options for the media consumption, like the yoga tablet. That looks like a good one.
I still use the original Nexus 7 for flights, for movies and reading ebooks. You dont need a top of the line tablet (ie apple products). I kind of wish I bought the Nexus 10 instead sometime but I could say the same thing for the Nexus 7 for its easier to carry size if things were different. I dont see myself buying a new tablet anytime soon. Also to get media files to play on an android tablet is easy as
Just out of curiousity, can anyone give a personal opinion on either of the following tablets: Asus ZenPad 8.0 (2GB RAM model) Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 (1GB RAM model) I'm interested in one, but have the following concerns about both: (1) Asus ZenPad has expandable memory but restricted to only pics and music (2) Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 is only 1GB of RAM, so I'm afraid it maybe too slow
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus recently came out, which is an upgraded version of 3 (obviously), I have been researching this and it has 3 gigs of ram. Only problem is that people have been experiencing audio delay bugs and they haven't been fixed because according to them, Lenovo tech support sucks. So that was a bummer because i really was strongly considering buying that one for sure when i did my research. Perhaps if they fix it in time, but i have doubts.
