Main Games Remaining: Grizz (4), Warriors (3), Clips (3), Spurs (2), OKC (2), Cavs (1), @Boston (1), Jazz (1), @Blazers (1) @Raps (1) = 19 games. I'm hoping the Rockets can win at least 10 of these gms. That would mean Rockets would have room x 6 losses vs the rest of the field. Including games vs Bulls (2), Pacers (2), Hawks (1), Heat (2), Orlando (2), Bucks (2), etc. Hard to believe Knicks presently 3rd seed at 14-10. One could see how hard it is to win 58 games. BUT LETS DO IT ROCKETS!!
[QUOTE=" The 2015 team was 10-2 on the road, when they hit their 10th win. That's the 3rd fastest in Rockets history (by road games played). 1994 and 1997 were both 10-1. This team reached 10 wins the 2nd fastest by date. [/QUOTE] yes road wins, they just smell sweeter yes? That's impressive right there.
We have been splitting games with the elites so far, so splitting those 19 games seems to be very doable. I think we probably should do a little better than that. The real tough ones are the 4 games against Griz, but they are without Conley, 3 games against Clippers which we have played pretty evenly as of late, 3 games against the Warriors and 2 games against the Spurs. I am thinking we probably will go 12-7 or something like that. Seeding is more important. We should avoid the Warriors and Spurs in the first and second round.
Yes, sorry. Mental lapse as I was watching a game on tv. You must have just posted as I corrected it.
Well, I'm hoping @ least winnIng 10 of those 19 games vs current high water mark teams. More would be nice. Catch spot of schedule I noticed is the one remaining 5-game road trip. Jan 20 vs GSW followed by the next night (Jan 21) at Memphis/...then Bucks/Boston/76ers/Pacers. To your point Memphis had the easiest rated schedule in the first quarter of the season.....but their luck may carry on. Or maybe not. (Thanks for double checking the math Yallmean). My high ceiling win total prediction prior to the season is 60 games (58 wins...+/-2 game margin of error).
Always been terrible at closing the season on the high note. Hopefully this season will be different.
and thats a lot of games I dont care about the record nor seeding what i care about is energy and professionalism they play each game with, i want to see them, hustling and playing smart and what comes out of it in the end, I dont even care
It will be difficult to avoid the Spurs or the Warriors in the second round since they are pegged as the 1st and 2nd seed when RS ends. Best case would be us getting the 1st seed and the Warriors & Spurs end as 2nd & 3rd or we go 2nd/3rd with GSW & SAS as 1st/4th.
Uh, we ain't getting the 1st seed. The Warriors may have struggled a bit this week, but barring injuries, they're running away with the conference. 2nd is a possibility depending on how good the Spurs are.
Likely the Warriors is a lock in the 1-8/4-5 bracket; the other is 2-7/3-6 bracket I like us to finish 2 or 3, which may push the Spurs to 4 or 5, and thus avoid meeting either of these teams in the first or second round. We don't want to finish 4 or 5. 6 or 7 is better than 4 or 5, but likely will meet the Spurs in first or second round. So if 2 or 3 is not attainable, 6 or 7 is next option. But let's not get way ahead. We should win as much as we can right now.
To be fair, there were a few no-calls at the end of some games that could've allowed the Rockets to win.
Now we're on pace to win 34 at home and 27 on the road making us 61-21. Things just keep looking better with each win!
