Besides the assault on our democracy by Russia and the Trump campaign, with the eager assistance of Wikileaks' Assange, has anyone given any thought to Trump now being in Putin's back pocket? That if Trump doesn't do what Putin really wants him to do, that Putin can threaten to expose the whole sordid theft of our presidential election? That Putin can use his "help" as more than playing a key role putting Trump in the White House? That he can use it to blackmail the President of the United States? As someone who vividly recalls Watergate (I voted against Richard Nixon back in the day), this could be an even bigger scandal. Yes, a foreign power interfering with our elections to install a government "friendly" to its interests is bigger than Watergate.

Unlike the treasonous knob lickers in this thread, Mitch McConnell came out strong.

The media was 100% all in for Hillary. Yet, nobody wants to call out our media for being bought and paid for or for being biased. Instead, lets blame Russia!! Lol, what a laugh this country is right now.

I think the media is a bigger problem than Russia is. Because the media influences more of our people than they do or ever will. When half of our country cares more about keeping up with the kardashians than they do the election can we REALLY blame Russia for anything? Dude doesn't think so.

People need to pay attention and open their eyes to whats going on.

I think that's deep, man. Certainly an interesting take too. But you can also can swing that the other way and say that they have more on Clinton too that they haven't come forward with. Like, where does this conspiracy end?

Bottom line, we had two garbage candidates to vote for. Dude voted for neither of them. But one of them had to win and it was a dirty election from the get go. I also can't say I'm entirely unhappy the Donald won because he at least addressed some of my concerns, while Hillary just called me a deplorable piece of **** even though all the dude ever wanted was to see Obamacare get reformed so that I don't have to like pay close to as much for medical insurance as I do my apartment.

The Dude must not realize the media covered Clinton emails for something like 40 years and gave Trump free airtime for something like 10 years. The media is in the book for $$$ for like 89.9877554321% of the time. Oh yea, it's a problem, but not any much more than anything that loves making $$$$$.

And while we hate our media and each other, we don't see what's coming into our house. That's the lol.

Seems like "Tha Dude" buys into right wing propaganda. The media made Trump. They also destroyed Hillary. To say they were 100% all in for Clinton is just insane and shows how divorced from reality "Tha Dude" is. By the way, the real dude didn't care about politics and would never take a side like that.

What are you talking about? Mother Russia would never do anything like that. All Hail Putin!

    Putin is POTUS!

Dude, you're one toke over the line if you blame the media for the Kardashians.

I don't see what options the senate has other than acting outraged. This has the makeup of stinking up the room and knowing who did it without much ado for anything else.

Is invisible fan going to have to read the dude reference the dude in third person in every the dude post?

Have you let the CIA know your thoughts on all this? I'm sure they'll be thrilled to know it's no big deal a foreign power sought to mess with our election. I mean, really...what's the big deal about that anyway, right?

Suggesting people shouldn't be concerned about this, regardless of the outcome of the election, is ridiculous to me. If this is true, it's likely the most significant political event of my lifetime.

the profit and fear one could generate from a pseudo cold war would be astronomical for all parties, china, russia and the U.S.
I could see that happening, meanwhile behind the scenes Trump and comrade putin are hosting sex parties together.

    Let's make america retro again!

The media gave Trump a ton of free press, and made it so that his ad spending could be at record lows. Despite this, the media was called out frequently for being biased against Trump and for Hillary. The media gets slammed all of the time.

A foreign power trying to subvert our democracy isn't a bigger deal than the media and your perceived bias they have?

    Let me rephrase what you're saying;

Before I continue, let me remind you the Russia ties are allegations. Please google the definition of 'allegation' if you're unsure what it means. Secondly, for your conspiracy theory to work, Putin would have to be involved directly. Since you obviously have no idea how the compromise into the DNC happen, you have no idea how closely tied Putin was involved.

Now to get to the meat of your conspiracy theory:

You're alleging that if [somebody] did not expose the DNC's unethical behaviors, then hillary would have won. Let me remind you this compromise was not that big of a deal. There was nothing earth shattering. We already knew Hillary had strong ties to Wall Street, we already knew she was the DNC's pet and we already knew the media was so far up the DNC and Hillarys ass. The only thing this exposure did was give substantial evidence.

So I ask this: Why would Trump be in Putins back pocket? What does Trump owe Putin? Why do you fail to understand Hillary was just a very very bad candidate and Trump won because she was one of the worst that could have been selected?

This logic falls on the extreme left wing nuttiness.

    How old are you? 12?

So you think this is the first time a foreign government has exposed information for election reasons? (Who released Trumps tax records, nobody seems to care about that). When a journalist goes public with damning evidence, who do you think releases it? The sources rarely release their information. If China compromises our systems, do you think they just get on Wikileaks and say "lulz, look what I found!?"

Secondly, you are totally dismissing the DNC colluding with the media. When government actors and the media start working together against the American people, this my friend, is a HUGE concern. This is the stuff they do in Russia and China. But you are right, this is a very significant political event.

I just love the idea of Russia's big secret plan to rig the US election and destroy our democracy was to release john podesta's emails. How cunning of them.

Our sovereignty thwarted by podesta's emails. haha.

I love the idea that some think that was the extent of what the Russians did when it was only one part. I also love the idea that some people think they know more about it than the intel agencies. I also love the idea that Americans are fine with brutal authoritarian leaders attempting to interfere and undermine democracy in the United States.

    Great stuff!

Please list the other attempts by foreign governments to subvert our democracy.

You may not care about other nations trying to subvert our democracy. But many of us do. We treasure the United States, and the power we have and can wield in elections. Many of us don't like the idea that a foreign government would steal documents, use those, and other propaganda in order to change our democratic elections.

Nixon was an American President, and he was run out of office for trying to steal documents from a political organization. That was bad. It's not any better when the people stealing documents come from Russia.

You've made it clear that you don't care, and have attacked others who are concerned. We get it. Your apathy (at best) has been noted.
