I have to agree with Bob here. I'm not saying drink burnt orange kool-aid, but the flip-flopping is really getting kind of old. Maybe some of y'all should stop hanging on every word the UT fan sites put out?
Don't see how that is complaining either but maybe I'm being sensitive. Just my opinion the kid is going to Stanford, not a lot of time to build a relationship with Herman and is announcing next week. Not a knock on anyone really. Believe he currently has an official visit lined up to Cali in January. Of course he could've been blown away and mom says stay close but we shall see.
Looks like Herman is bringing in Drew Mehringer as a position coach. He was OC for Rutgers last season but also worked with him at UH and OSU.
Drew Mehringer will be Texas' pass game coordinator. Was WR coach for Herman at UH. Played for him at Rice. GA'd at ISU and OSU. - Pete Thamel
Assuming Orlando and Navier are in from UH, that leaves 2 offensive coaching positions open. QB-OC and RB or TE (Meekins can reportedly coach either depending on who they bring in). Rumored names are Tim Beck (OC for OSU), Stan Drayton (RB coach for Chicago Bears), and Tim Brewster (TE for FSU). Drayton and Brewster would be home run hires from a recruiting standpoint but neither of them has ever called plays or coached QBs (I guess Herman could do that). Beck's offense has actually regressed each year after Herman but it'd be a big pull out from Urban. Scout is also reporting that the OC hire has been done for quite some time now.
That's proper chiseling right there. I do hope that UH/AtM/UT all start playing each other again, it's fun.
I'm still indifferent about playing A&M again. It was never a game I looked forward to because of how annoying it would be if we lost. "TU" "Tea Sippers" etc. As long as we play OU and have a big non conference game. I think it's a lot more realistic if we ever start playing 4 non conference games again.
That's like Florida not playing Florida State, ****'s just wrong. I'm sorry, but I grew up on that rivalry and on what ****ing planet was UT/AtM ever not fun as hell? Intrastate sh@t talking is what college football is all about, now we're stuck with Baylor and Tech, and the Farmers get to enjoy regular asskickings by LSU or some MissaTucky school, talk about shooting fish in a barrel. Kyle Field was hilarious to go to, great tailgating and people-watching.
Unless UH's "home" games were at NRG and the Toyota Center there's no reason on earth for UT to come to Houston. UH fans really, really need to get over their terminal case of the shortdick when it comes to anything UT.
I love how this image was made by a moderator on a UT Fan forum who was just ****ing with a pissed off UH fan. Given that you posted this in the UH thread about 5 minutes after the UH poster thanked the moderator for making the image on the other forum, I'm guessing you are the user "facepalm" on the HornsFans message board. You registered and are posting on a UT fan site about UH. That's lame. https://www.hornfans.com/threads/welcome-tom-herman.103642/page-3
Wish I could give 100 more likes. Scarface just got owned. So embarrassing. A small majority of UH fans embarrass the large majority on a daily basis. Good job keeping up the good work boss.
Football is too hard, but there should be a quick Texas-only basketball tourney. That'd be fun and cute. Maybe juice up a dead sport (locally) that deserves better. So much basketball talent in this state. I don't even like NCAA hoops very much, but I'd take it.
