We aren't #1. Let's at least beat these next two imminently beatable teams before this jinx kicks in.
We have one of the best regular season coaches. Let's wait until the playoffs until we bust our load. Still very happy with the progress we're making.
In this thread: Clutchfans not knowing how to react to media respect. This is uncharted territory for us boys.
ESPN still trying to keep Rockets fans humble. #mediconspiracy http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18261961/nba-power-rankings-marc-stein-week-8-rankings

I'd put as as 5th behind GS/SA/Cle/LAC But it's nice to be loved. Team has really surprised me and been a joy to watch. Complete 180 from last year.
That's more like it. I can handle #5. No jinx likely there. And with regard to ESPN's comments on the Rockets, yes D'Antoni deserves Coach of the First Trimester over Memphis. The Rockets have had a brutal schedule and were without Bev for half of it.
CBSsports actually gets it, who is the best team / most powerful / playing the best basketball at the moment is the right way to define Power Rankings. ESPN & NBA.com tend to go by overall record, despite poor play, and keep teams they slobber over at the top regardless of results. They just play it safe and rather look at the mean than the peaks, so would say the Warriors and Spurs are better than how they are playing currently. However, that simply means they are not playing the best and since it's weekly rankings, I don't see how anyone can argue that the Rockets are not at least top 3.
No way the Clippers are better than us. That lazy and false narrative pisses me off more than the others. The Clippers have accomplished nothing greater than Vinny Del Negro did in the 5 years Doc Rivers has been there. Doc is overrated and so is his soft squad.
