Goodbye! Have fun in whatever liberal echo chamber you end up in! We won't miss your arrogance. Pro tip: you need more diversity of opinion among those you interact with and your news sources you read. You'll be better for it.

IT also amounts to hacking in and stealing those emails. It also includes spreading fake news stories and propaganda.

All of that is okay with you from an adverse burial leader of a of a foreign nation?

It certainly matters if they did sway and change our election, but I don't know of anyway to really determine that. Even if this time it had no effect in changing the outcome, it is dangerous and troubling, that some are not only upset by it, but that they welcome it, and try and cast doubt on those that are investigating and exposing the intrusion.

I have yet to see anyone state what we should do to Russia for doing something they have been doing since global networking existed.

We're still complaining that Russia might have unfairly shown the American public how shitty the people in the DNC are.....i mean, it had no impact on the election, but let's freak out anyway I guess.

No one feels sorry for you if you had an Ashley Madison account. That's basically what this whole faux controversy boils down to. It's only made worse by the fact that not long ago we had Democrats suggesting that Hillary Clinton legitimately compromising national security was no big deal....but the DNC hack is the end of the world.

    Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

It's pretty clear that they think the US should nuke Russia for exposing how awful those in the DNC are. That's a sin that cannot be forgiven.

Yup. I've said this before, the major damage from the leak isn't really caused by the leaker - it's the damage from the fault of the party being leaked. In a way, Russia, IF TRUE, was doing a public service showing how corrupt the DNC were. I mean, when Obama took office, he was all about transparency right?

Well it looks like for most this isn't a partisan issue...except again for the people that see Trump as their dear leader or something. All facts go out the window then. I'm just glad that the actual GOP is more concerned about this than the many posters that call themselves conservatives.

Who here is concerned about Carlos Slim's influence on the election? Awaiting the CIA report that he owns the NY Times and stands to lose millions if immigration policies are altered.

so for future elections, Russians, Chinese, Iranians, etc should all try their best at cyber warfare to elect the leader they like the best, because people in this country could care less.

I think it's less about retaliation (maybe increased sanctions or something) but much more about going down this rabbit hole, understanding exactly what all the Russians did, in detail, and making sure they can't do it in the next election. Seems pretty reasonable. And if Trump has zero ties to Russia and especially to this activity, then he should have nothing to fear. Nobody (nobody reasonable) is trying to install HRC.

Why wouldn't they? If major parties have lax security and are awful people, why wouldn't you hack them and expose how awful they are if you don't want them to win? If that was done against a party those on the left oppose then they'd romanticize the action as being "hacktivism"

It is one thing for them to try, it is another if half the people in this country could care less about it. So if the Chinese government help Democrats win next time, the Democrats should just say, "hell ya, our guy won!". The investigation is not about making Hillary the next president, Which won't happen, but about how to prevent something like that happening in the future, to the best of our knowledge.

Proof of that? This is pointless and irrelevant to the discussion, whether those on the left would behave differently or not. This extreme partisan that everyone on the left is incapable of having any honor is pretty tiring.

Again, I'm glad that there are conservatives in the house and senate that are willing to stand against this as well. Some things shouldn't be partisan issues and this is one of them.

That's called capitalism. What foreign government does Carlos Slim run? Which spies did Carlos Slim trot out to hack American political parties? What? Yeah.

It's just hard to get outraged when someone exposes that someone else is an awful person. For example, if evidence came out that Donald Trump really was a NAMBLA member then would anyone care HOW we found out? I doubt it. Now, should the US try and prevent illegal computer hacks? Sure, but that doesn't mean people will be outraged to find out who leaked the dirty laundry of candidates or political parties. That's just not something that will happen.

How about the past? Someone illegally obtained some of Trump's taxes and leaked them.....did we hear people on the left crying about that? Of course not. Did we hear outrage on the left when Wikileaks was releasing videos and documents of Bush era military cover ups? Of course not. Again, you never heard outrage on the left until they were affected, now the world is coming to an end. For me, I think the same about all leaks, it's illegal, it should be prosecuted when possible, but in the end if you do bad things and people expose that it's on you.
