Players are required by the CBA to be truthful and supply anything pertinent to the ability to perform at a "Unique Skill" athletic job. They are in trouble if they lie or withhold info. The wording in the CBA and their Uniform Player Contract is pretty clear about that. But I doubt it has anything to do with that Here is what my sauce -- Donatas Motiejunas -- says on the subject
Yeah, Joel is a good guy, he was fired for some BS to do with an intern......a little birdie told me. What could it be if it is not a medical issue though? DD
No. He won a championship with us and STOPPED Jordan head to head. And we have forgiven his transgressions. Pippen, Parsons, White on the other hand...
White doesn't even belong on the list. He's been scrubbed from history. Parsons is annoying. But Pippen has his own special place in Rockets hell.
I think we're all hoping that the Rockets just need to get more information but why wouldn't they just say that outright if that were the case. Is this a summary of the info we have? - It was reported here DMo failed his physical by an unconfirmed insider (DMo is reporting it's not for medical reasons). - MDA was excpecting him in practice and seemingly doesn't know much, or isn't saying much. - Morey is being uncharacteristically quiet about the whole thing. - DMo is saying he was told to "go home" and not show up for work. Anything missing? Again why all the secrecy.
@opticon Upon further review, it actually looks like the Rockets can void the contract based upon failure to pass an examination and still retain RFA rights on the player. I don't really even like to answer the question, though, because I don't think this is what is happening. But for the purpose of interest you and surely others have...here is the clause -------------------------------------------------------- From the CBA: ARTICLE II UNIFORM PLAYER CONTRACT Section 13. Void Contracts. If a Player Contract fails to take effect or becomes void as a result of a Commissioner disapproval, the player’s failure to pass a physical examination conducted pursuant to Exhibit 6 to such Contract, or the rescission of a trade conducted pursuant to Article VII, Section 8(e), then,in each such case: (a) the Team shall continue to possess such rights with respect to the player as the Team possessed at the time of the execution of the Contract, including, without limitation, any such rights that the Team possessed pursuant to Article VII, Section 6(b), Article X, and Article XI;-------------------------------------------------------- Article XI is Free Agency and Restricted Free Agency (and player rights of the team). I repeat: I provide this clause per request and for bbs consumption. My opinion is this is not what is happening.
My sources just informed me that the team will NOT pass DMo on his physical until all 50 physicians have had a chance to perform digital prostate exams.
Scola made too much for a team going nowhere Sean Elliot had real problems and nobody wants anyone to have microfracture surgery now, much less 10 years ago. Not to mention it destroyed Tracy's career.
I hope they can get this settled ASAP. The sooner DMo shows he can be serviceable the sooner we can try to snatch a 1st rd pick for him.
The thing that's keeping me up at night....... Since when did people start spelling it as "DEMO"??? That **** literally makes no sense.
