ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Thunder 12/9/2016

Before season start, I posted I expected Rockets to win close to 50.

(I've seen enough) now upgrading to 55+ barring injuries to key players.

Enjoying the Rockets season after a most disappointing and frustrating 2015-16.

 

I'm ready to see some Domatas on Donatas violence. Can't wait for the reverse fixtures.

 

Can we give some love to that bench? They outscored the Thunder's bench 44-24.

 

Notice the very end of this video. MDmA goes full Bubbles and tells Bev, "Who's got your belly?".

 

Bev playing like the Old Bev before the knee injury....now if the Rox get back DMO before that back injury when he filled in for Dwight then oh golly

 

OKC is actually a stout defensive team.

Harden was still not great though. Russ was nearly as bad.


Harden was still 1 rebound away from a triple double

 

I like the bench the way it is. Dekker and Montrezzle have been on fire and I would hate for D-Mo to come in and disrupt what they've built.

 

No doubt, he has been clutch many times in the past, but he has these games where you question if he's mentally checked out. Just go back and look at his body language this game, he was barely even running, shoulders slumped, no agility, lazy behind the back passes, and standing in the paint on D while leaving his man open. Another thing I noticed is how he would pass the ball off to a covered team mate and just stand flat footed in the same spot, rather than moving or cutting. I get he needs the ball in his hands to create, but he needs to play some off ball also to get some easy layups and open shots.

 

Green b*stard is to Patrick Beverley as "____?__" is to Russell Westbrook.

 

This is why people always choose Curry or Westbrook over Harden. They move, set up a screen, or try to get their teammates a shot. It's one of the things I hate about Harden. He can get assists easily, but if the play doesn't work out and he has to hand it off, he stands pat.

 

adams is pretty good though. lol. Would love it if he was on our team

 

Curry yes, but Westbrook? He's a worse ball hog than Harden, and doesn't move that well off the ball either.

 

Man you go on espn.com and all you see is westbrook triple double. Gawd ride him some more plz

 

Agree on offensive sets but Westbrook is also more willing to dive for that loose ball or set up a charge. Then again I'm not sure if I really would want Harden to risk injury.

 

I hear ya but when we go up against BIG lineups like San Antonio/Memphis and even OKC in the 4th period in the future having DMO at the 5 or when Anderson is laying an egg I think having DMO coming off the bench will pay off...deeper bench..especially come playoff time when it really matters most..just my opinion time will tell

 

Cant believe Horford and Westbrook missed game winning lay ups.

 

Capela got owned tonight. I finally knew why we needed Nene and Dmo.

 

The expectations for Harden and Westbrook are too high. Anything short of a spectacular performance is not good and suck. I thought Harden was careless with the ball, but the poor shooting probably had something to do with the Thunders defense and his defensive effort.

 

True Adams is probably worth it but if your "All-in" maxing Westbrook, Oladipo, Adams and Kanter.... you're not going anywhere.

Oladipo and Kanter are def not worth the max imo
