"I’d say he’s probably in the day-to-day category,” head coach Bill O’Brien said Wednesday. The third-year wide receiver participated in practice, but was limited. In a game with major playoff implications as both (6-6) teams battle for the AFC South, Strong's presence would be a big boost to the offense, especially given his record against the Colts. “Each team is fun to play against, the Colts being in our division makes it a lot more so,” Strong said. “Just got to take it one practice at a time.” In Week 6, Strong made a crucial 36-yard catch to set up Nick Novak’s game-winning field goal in overtime in the Texans 26-23 comeback over the Colts. Last season, all three of Strong’s touchdowns came against Indianapolis. His first career reception on Oct. 8, 2015 came on a 42-yard Hail Mary touchdown as time expired in the first half. Strong finished with two catches for 53 yards, both touchdowns in that game. In Week 15, he hauled in an eight-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Weeden in the fourth quarter at Indianapolis to give the Texans a 13-10 lead, their first of the game. Through eight games with two starts this season, Strong has 14 receptions for 131 yards. The Texans will travel to Lucas Oil Stadium to play the Colts on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. on CBS and SportsRadio 610.
Having Clowney back should help a lot, but the defense as a whole simply has to be better than they've been lately and with the secondary as banged up as they are, I think it'll be a long day.
Yeah the defense has to play perfect football thanks to our useless offense. I feel sorry for Romeo's crew.
Well...I mean, that's how the team is built. Also, it doesn't have to play "perfect" it just can't be worthless like it was in the 4th quarter of the last game. It just has to be "good" really, and given how much the team has put into the defense by way of resources, it should be able to do at least that....if it can't, the team will struggle. Only rarely will the offense bail them out like the last game vs the Colts.
No the team was built to score more points than they did last year, that's why they acquired all these offensive players like Fuller, Osweiler, Lamar Miller, and Braxton Miller. This offense is worst than last year's Hoyer-led team. The offense is one of the worst in the league, all they need to do is perform at an average level, and they can't even do that.
Adding a ton of new guys and rookies isn't an immediate cure all. It takes time for things to gel...especially when your top WR is having a terrible season, you have no O line, and your RB has incredibly poor vision. They have shown some promise of late though, but TE's fumbling and WR's letting the ball bounce off their hands has kind of hurt that. I imagine next season with a healthy and improved O line, a QB in the 2nd year of a system, and Nuk out of his slump and remembering how to play football things will look better. Till then, the defense can't be terrible and hope the offense will bail them out. It's just not going to happen very often.
Well Hopkins is having a terrible year as a product of him having the worst or second to worst QB in the NFL according to rating.
That has nothing to do with it at all. He could have Joe Montana in his prime at QB and he'd still be having a down year due to him not getting open, not running the right routes, and letting passes bounce off his hands....and often for interceptions. Yet again,blaming everything on Osweiler is the type of lazy, short sighted analysis that really needs to stick to places like the Chron.com, the Texans Facebook page, and sports talk radio. Let's be better than that here. Maybe I'm expecting too much.
