With D-Mo back in the fold, does MDA play him behind Anderson and move Dekker to backup three behind Ariza?

    Current rotation;

    Capela/ Harrell / Nene
    Anderson/ D-Mo
    Ariza/ Dekker
    Harden/ Gordon
    Beverly

Brewer will outlast all present players on Rockets team.

D-Mo will take minutes from Dekker, Nene, and Harrell at the 4 and 5 spots.

Dekker will regain his lost minutes by taking all of Brewers minutes at the 3 and maybe a few minutes from Ariza to reduce his heavy workload.

I hope so. I never hear players complain about Brewer and the fact that he gets playing time probs speaks to the fact that he's a good locker room presence and tries hard. But his time has come to an end. It's not personal, it's what have you done for us lately.

I think he'd have to. Not sure how you can give Dekker any minutes once DMo is healthy unless he is taking from Brewer.

Hopefully. But he apparently puts a lot of effort in at practice to earn some minutes. How long will it take for DMo to get up to speed?

I can see Dmo taking more minutes from nene and Harrell than Brewer . MDA loves to run and gun and I think Brewer is more proven than Harrell and nene seems to be going through some **** .

Maybe long run as MDA gains more trust in Dekker he will leave him out there instead of Brewer .

I hope the talked about lineup is the one we get ( with Dmo taking mins from brew) ... But I think at first it will be Harrell and nene who have their minutes cut .

First Page. The answer is obviously, Yes. And this thread won't last long, if so.
But if Brewer still gets a few games after DMo's return, this thread will go to 30+ pages.

btw: my Posting Incentives kick in, if the thread reaches 10 pages

D-Mo plays the post better in the 4 position than in the 5. (smaller defender)

But if he does play 5, he plays the best for top key and PnR with James. Which Capela and Harrell does, but now we'll have a top of key 3 pointer threat.

You might see lesser double picks with the 4 and 5 when he is on the floor coz he's a better pick setter than Capela/Nene/Harrell/Anderson as far as I can tell. (He doesn't leave too early, and is quite a stone wall)) IIRC. So that's when the 2-3 position have more chances to do back door or corner positions where James can get the pass off to, if he aborts the drive...and if he doesn't, DMo following him in more off reb opportunity than what we've been getting (since Capela usually leaves the pick earlier to accept a potential oop from James... Or Nene slides wider out to drive to the basket on a bounce pass from James.

What will be instant impact is Bev or Eric having someone to pass to inside the paint when they drive to (Eric) or past (Pat) the basket. Since DMO would be expecting it, unlike Clint or Ryan.

Next impact would have to be designed pass to the backdoor cutter with the 3, usually that would be either Ariza or Brewer in the past...now add Dekker to that.

For all intents and purposes, DMo should be instantly the 2nd best passer now.

Dekker has been good enough to where you'd want him on the court so I agree, I think you have to make Brewer go away when/if DMo gets up to speed. You won't be able to justify Dekker over DMo in most matchups at the 4, and I could never justify Brewer over Dekker at the 3.

Anything that takes minutes from Brewer is ok!

But I think Dekker still gets PF minutes.
It's working and Dekker is developing.

Nene is almost as bad as Brewer, just the big version. So his minutes should get cut, too.

And of course we can't forget the DM would love to move Brewer's contract for cap space, so the better he plays the more likely that is to happen.

The only con I've seen is he takes 5 secs to do a post move. Too long in MDA offense. Then again, MDA got them to do instant switching and collapsing defense this year... so I'm sure they can do designed timed pass opp from the 4/5 post for DMO, when he can't initiate his move under 3-4 secs.
