This team will never win anything with Brock Osweiler at QB!

If.... wait, let me try again: IF Brock Osweiler can play the rest of the way like he did Sunday - efficient with no turnovers - the Texans could legitimately run the table. No, no - stop: I'm not saying he was good; I'm saying he was good enough, with the defense, to win most Sundays and, at this point, that's about all we have....

I'm not sure, they scored only 13 points (14 if not for the extra point miss) and Green Bay is not good defensively. 5.8 yards per attempt and such a conservative game plan because the coach doesn't trust him.

And without Clowney defense was not getting a lot of pressure

^Yea what if our defense doesn't hold and we are forced into a shootout with the other team? I don't personally have any faith we could win

Remember - conditions were terrible and they turned it over twice on their first three possessions - neither of which were his fault. Otherwise, he matched Rodgers virtually pass-for-pass - and would've been better, frankly, had his receivers not let him down.

No, as @zeeshan2 said, they can't win a shootout. But they can win 21-17 kind of games; basically, the '15 Broncos plan.

Sigh! If IFs and BUTs were CANDY and NUTS, we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

    Did
you watch the game or are you looking at the stats. He was not good for a majority of the game. He was like 5/6 on the last drive when the game was out of reach.

Do you expect Brock's opponents to drop 3 INTS every game while converting none? We are lucky the score wasn't worse.

So you are saying be as good as a game manager? That's asking for a lot. Ive said it before and I'll say it again the Texans defense is good but not good enough to make up for the Offense inefficiencies

You're getting hammered for this, but I will also add that his best throw of the day came during garbage time. Much like Hoyer padded his stats in the 2nd half of the Atlanta and Miami games last year.

So yeah...if the receivers would have played perfect, the other 10 players on offense would have played perfect and the elements would have been perfect....he would have actually been...okay. :)

Don't forget their were some dropped interception possibilities by the Packers, too.

As noted, there's lots of IFs and BUTs. Every QB has plays where other players make the mistakes, and plays where they benefit because the opposing defense might not fully capitalize on their own mistake.

We can judge play by play, or judge overall. And even ignoring the "garbage time" drive, his overall play was still just meh.

I mean, I get Hey Now's point. 62%+ completion, 2 TDs, 0 interceptions, a 97.6 rating... all looks pretty solid. And it was in horrible conditions. But if you watch the game and just see how he manages plays and drives, and how few yardage they get and how little explosiveness there is, etc., and see the 202 yards (not great... though for him, ok!), the 5.77 y/a (one of his lowest of the season), against a sub-par defense, and the Texans could finish ok with that, or lose all their games with that.

I will admit he has had a couple games where he actually looked decent in the 4th quarter. The problem with Brock is that he has yet to start aggressive and stay aggressive. I hope the interceptions are behind us, and that he is actually progressing towards average. But.......I don't want an average quarterback. Call me greedy but I want our first round draft pick to be his replacement if he continues to struggle, because for some weird reason, it appears Savage never will be.

That's unfair. I'm not arguing he was GOOD... But this team can win games if he completes 60+% of his passes, throws a few TDs & doesn't turn it over. The bar is low...

I also don't get this "garbage time" conceit - what's garbage time about a 14-point game with ~5 minutes left?

But he doesn't do that. That was his best QB rating of the season. Almost any team could say that if their QB played as well as he did in his best game, their team could win games.

Derek Carr's performance tonight is now the 2nd lowest yardage ever for a quarterback with over 40 attempts, moving Brock's Denver game to 3rd worse!
