Stop confusing Barkley the Rockets player vs Barkley the TNT guy

Knew you couldn't have a thread without DMo in it.

 

At first I thought this thread was breaking the "Only D-Mo Threads" rule, but then I opened it. Thumbs up. Good thread.

Is this about dmo or chuck?

 

Barkley the player also suck at the tail end of his career after the injury, he openly admitted that he was like stealing money from this organization in his last season or so.

Dmo also suck after his injury the last season here.

The only difference between them is : Barkley were able to steal it from Les in his final year, but Dmo failed miserably in his attempt now.

 

This is the source of inspiration for this thread, for those wondering. I just included Barkley on a list of former Rockets that generate polarizing opinions.

Funny thing is the only players on that list that I don't like are Pippen and White.

The rest, I'm good with.

I think it's stupid to include DMo in the list of "most hated Rockets", anyways. Talk about a knee jerk thread (that DMo Hated thread). This saga continues to be entertaining!

Barkley being Dmo or White or Lin was never the point, anyways. All of the players on that list are for vastly different reasons, and it was just for humor's sake.

So if you were to rank them from most-to-least controversial, maybe he is a distant last place. No skin off my back.

The only reason Barkley ever surfaces around here anymore is when he makes a comment about the Rockets owing him money.

What a lot of people don't remember (or know, I am talking to you mid 90's born snowflakes) is that Barkley WANTED to come to Houston and that he and the fans embraced and love him after hating him for so many years.

Charles, he came here because this was his best chance to win and absolutely worked his ass off his first year here until injuries took over. He was phenomenal (outside of shooting too many 3's) Dude played his heart out and most importantly loved the fans and the city. Injuries slowed him down and he did take a pay cut in order to bring in Pippen (the real most hated Rockets player)

Dude tried his hardest until his body failed him and forced him to retire. It happens, but at least he gave 110% every single game. Without him, we were NEVER able to beat the Sonics. Not sure how many of you remember, but that team was our ****ing kryptonite. We just could NOT beat them.

Barkley, not once ever bashed the fans or the players, or the coaches on the Rockets. He was always throwing praise at his teammates, coaches (he loved Rudy T) and of course the fans. His issues with management are that...management.

I'll never forget Barkley's first regular season game in a Rockets uniform. 33 rebounds that game. THIRTY THREE.

 

Lin gave 110% effort regardless of his trade situation!

 

The Sonics had won 13 straight games against the Rockets. 13! There's no way in hell bringing back the same team from 1996 and adding Kevin Willis would've resulted in us beating Seattle. Hell, we barely beat them with Barkley on our roster and the Sonics having a mini-implosion with Kemp's contract dispute(and rumored alcoholism) and the asinine Jim McIlvaine signing. The one downside to getting Barkley was that it weakened us against the Jazz. Utah had way too much depth that season and Stockton torched Maloney. No doubt we missed Cassell in that WCF series.

BTW, that game where Barkley got 33 rebounds? It was at Phoenix.
