To the guys that are arguing with Jopat: This is the same guy that argued VEHEMENTLY that each time you flipped a coin, even if you flipped it 1000 times in a row, individually, each coin toss was NOT a 50/50 proposition. His argument was that you could predict a trend based on previous results. And even when it was pointed out mathematically how wrong this was, he still stuck to his guns and claimed that none of us understood probability. He's completely incapable of admitting when he's wrong. I will never forget that, and neither should any of you.

Are they though? The dude may play like he did last year for the rest of his time in the NBA. His back might be ****ed. Let's also not forget he play HALF a season at a good level. Other than that he was MEH. He's a nice player but he doesn't move the needle.

There is precedence for this. It's not like the Rockets are anywhere near the first team to do something like this. Nobody will view them poorly for doing what every other team in the league would have done/has done in the past. We just never hear about it because every other player who has been faced with a situation like this has acted like a professional and played according to the contract they signed.

You're right, I have no clue about the CBA and am just assuming. Obviously, there must be a way to change the terms if the Rockets are seeking that option on the cutoff date.

The simple minded approach is to sign a contract, and be to dense to realize 6m you promised your player hinged on him taking a physical, which he evidently can not pass.

This isn't even a debate. It almost seems like BJ hasn't even read the CBA. Although, judging by his past transgressions, that would hardly surprise anyone.

You don't think a role player can screw up chemistry?

What if DMo reports and then gets his money and says his back hurts, he can't play?

You can't force this it needs to be negotiated, I am sure Morey know this.

NBA players will rally behind DMo and feel the Rockets took advantage of one of their own, it could really hurt us as a destination.

This is hardly a black and white situation, BJ screwed up, no one will trust him anymore, now will they trust the Rockets?

Then why state "Morey will make it worst..."? That is a statement that implies blame on Morey's part.

Morey could easily make it a non-issue by agreeing to the incentives. At the end of the day, you need to ensure your employee is happy enough to do his job to the best of their ability.

If it was that easy, there would not more Dmo threads right? The fact that the Rockets are not budging is not a simple matter.

At the end of the day, the rockets are just showing that they don't mind being assholes to their players. This type of crap would never happen in the Spurs or Lakers organization. They tell the players where they stand and don't monkey around with "leverage."

    Not sure about that.

Sources: Utah offering more money to Dmo

But who knows. Maybe omg is one of BBH's aliases...

Good lord. You do realize the Rockets have done nothing wrong right? Literally everyone outside a few clueless clutchfans posters are trying to figure out what the hell Dmo is doing.

It is Morey who is making it difficult. RFA screws over the players and everyone knows it. Morey is trying to screw over the player as much as possible at this point.
