And they in turn need a building inspector or code enforcement officer to make sure they don't make mistakes. Who are you arguing with here? :D

Here, you say neither side is honoring the contract DMo SIGNED

Yet later, you say this: "DMo is prepared to honor the contract he signed."
    Which is it?
If DMo wanted to retain a shred of honor and good faith, he would have honored his contract already and appeared for the physical.

Why would Jan 10 matter if Dmo refuse to report which means he is not honoring the contract?

BJ might be the worst agent I've ever seen. Wow.

The picture gets clearer to us as information gets released or leaked.

It appears D-Mo might not have been informed by his reps irt to potential legal ramifications of the Rockets' matching. That explains his ambivalence to either playing for the Nets or Rockets just a few days earlier.

The solution: explore the firing of his representatives and a initiate a malpractice suit against them. In turn, in gesture of extreme goodwill, the Rockets could add the incentives back to the existing contract.

This is a win-win for the Rockets and D-Mo. The obvious loser is a certain agent whose initial coincides with a most enjoyable activity. No homo, lol.

Just saw BJ Armstrong and DMo in the cafe. They were talking about how negotiations are going with Morey - BJ was very animated.
    Snapped a photo.

But there is. The CBA dictates he has only 2 days to comply with the physical. You are right they can't force him to comply, but then he is in formal failure to comply conditions, and other CBA rules kick in. Larry Coon does a good job of explaining this ... and how the rules governing compliance with physicals is written in the CBA because the Owners and Union agreed to them.

By failing to comply with the two-day deadline, what power do you think that gives the Player? Do you think he can demand a physical any time he wants in order to gain leverage?

Identical Analogy to a Non-Compliant Traded Player

Imagine if this was a trade. Imagine Lawson had a non-guaranteed 2nd yr already when we traded for him. With those DUIs, he has major question marks regarding performance.

So, imagine such a scenarios where Player gets traded who had a target date for guaranteeing a subsequent year. Player chooses to not show for required physical of the trade, as some "seam" to put pressure on the trading team to pick up that subsequent year, as a hold-out strategy, without seeing him perform on the court. Team can void the trade or call the league office and say the player is non-compliant with request for physical. What do you think happens? Can that player say "It's My Right" to hold-out and force a physical on a favorable later date that puts pressure on the team to pick up that option, while the Team loses the Right to see him play games?

What do you think? Can traded players use this "seam" too?

Morey...did his job and followed the rules of the CBA...Incompetence by an agent squandered the earning potential of a player. DMo is just trying to appeal to the kindness of an owner/GM in making 6M dollars reappear. Fact is BJ shouldve been fired yesterday...

    So to recap:
    1. Nets offered a contract with a base of 31 M plus 6 million in contract incentives?
    2. Rockets read the contract and matched the base as per CBA rules...
    3. BJ and DMo dont like the fact the Rockets only matched the base...and start championing their "rights"
    4. A mystery team was offering a 2 year contract for 23 M...But BJ already negotiated the contract with the Nets...
    5. DMo throwing a hissy fit for losing 6 M in incentives and then hearing about alternative options...fails to show for a physical.
    6. Morey standing firm...
    7. Everyone(except jopat) is confused at why BJ is still DMo's agent...

You're so far off in the weeds here I dont even care to address everything.

This is a negotiation. It's dirty. It's been dirty since it started. Both sides are dirty. The difference between this case and many other restricted free agent cases is BJ is pushing back much stronger, much more sly, and much mute creatively than other agents.

The ball is in the Rockets court. They can either waive the physical or they can put him back in RFA pool, or they can wait for the physical in January and either fail him and cede him to Brooklyn or pass him and guarantee the whole salary while having less than 2 months to decide on next season.

Morey should either waive the physical now or renegotiate a deal starting at around $12-18 million guarantee year 1 to get that second year guarantee date pushed back to July 15. Or he can do nothing and DMo will come in in January shortly before Jan 10th.

It will cost the Rockets a lot more money this season to get that guarantee date moved back. The pressure is on them. It's their move. You need to accept the reality of the situation.

We will, once he takes his physical, suit up, and actually EARN his pay.

He should've thought about that before he signed the contract.

Dude his pay isn't getting docked. Get that out of your noggin. They can't fine him. There's no mechanism in place in the CBA to allow them to do that.

Surprised all of you are still entertaining bbh. He has obviously entered the "play contrarian to every point made and don't respond to all of the points proving me wrong" troll territory.
