You absolutely can. He signed hired his agent. He made the decision to wait. He signed the Nets contract. I don't know why you keep trying to shift blame away from D-Mo.

Because you hire agents and lawyers to protect you Chen, I know all smart people get it.

Agreed. But you can definitely blame his agent.

No doubt about it. The problem is all players are watching, BJ is done, but Morey needs to find a quick solid resolution too, players will protect their own and Morey will be seen as a bad guy a well, you don't screw with a players money and it is a players league.

And lets just stop this whole "RFA is a dirty business" nonsense.

RFA is agreed upon by the players union and the league as a staple for first round picks to give more runway on their prospects that they spend time to invest in for 4 years when they only had to give them/pay them for two. If the Players decided they didn't want to deal with RFA, and take it out of the CBA, you best assured that the teams would use that as leverage to give more nonguaranteed years on their deals.

As the RFA process is concerned, its very simple. If you have a good agent, you will actually benefit from RFA. The agent is the salesperson who contacts teams, and gets you a deal. There is no needed communication with your home team unless you want to. You simply find the best possible offer, and accept that your home team can match it.

Alot of RFA's have earned significantly more than they would have been worth in the open market as a UFA. It should be considered a blessing if you operate as a smart business person, and hire a quality agent. If you don't like it as a player.... fine... agree to accept the QO (which is larger than any rookie scale salary typically), and become Unrestricted the next year. Its not the complicated guys, and it sure isn't "Dirty". Its actually pretty player friendly as they have options.... more options than UFA's who don't get a get out of jail card with a QO.

Wait a minute. DMO gets no blame for hiring and putting his faith in a crap agent? Smart people get that that's not smart.

    DD, your thirst is showing.

Think hand cuffs are enough?? But chips are in play, bargaining chips. Morey likes having upper hand and bargaining chips.

Agree with DD here, it's like buying a house, there's a hundred forms you don't read but you take the word of whoever is telling you what's in those forms before you sign them. You're relying on their competence and nothing more.

Restricted free agency is dirty business and DMo's case is exposing it. This has been going on since Feb. Colluding, fake physicals, playing around, feigning like they're going to execute a sign-and-trade, just stringing it out to limit the players options. Restricted free agency is a very dirty business.

If BJ has no history of these major screw ups and you find no issue in your Due Dilligence, you can get screwed this is what happened here.

Neither side is honoring the contract he signed. They removed the incentives. LOL.

Amateurish is blindly looking at March 1 and refusing to see what is going to happen way before then.

Wait a god damn minute! If I'm building a house and I hire crap contractors because I didn't do my research and my house ends up looking like ****, that's my bad. The contractors were always bad I didn't do enough research.
