Correct. It doesn't appear to be specific to the contract ... just CBA rules.

Matching teams are only obligated to "Principal Terms" of an offer sheet. Apparently, bonuses of the type Incentives for Individual Achievement or Incentives for League Honors are not part of principal terms. I suppose some Bonuses are, like Signing Bonuses....but not the Incentive bonuses that BJ agreed to. Again, this appears to be CBA Rules that agents should know.

and btw: They could add more or less as well. My interpretation of Bobby Marks' comments are anything can be added to the principal terms.

Essential how role players need to get paid too. Which they do much better than non-stars in the NFL

No, it's not. The contract DMo signed and the one the Rockets have decided on aren't the same. The Rockets are penny pinching when it's already an unguaranteed contraact.

The Rockets still have the option to include all the incentives from the Brooklyn deal

Yeah I mean I get what he's saying, but it just doesn't make sense to me. You're worth what someone is willing to pay.

We don't know that, but assuming it's true....that's the rules. If his agent didn't know that before hand then too bad. Find another agent.

Yes, you are breaking a contract. As long as it can be proven that an offer was made and proven that you accepted it. In most cases, a company that hasn't yet hired you will flip you off not wanting to add a disgruntled employee or tie up money on legal proceedings. But it is technically illegal.

Is it not his agent's job to be aware of these nuances -- and, in turn, make his client aware -- before his client enters into an agreement?

    Damn,

I get off of work, check CF hoping to see DMo at practice and suddenly see 3 new DMo threads--WTFO! Please somebody tell me what's going on? By not showing up he appears to be trying to get us to release him, which I doubt DM would do. I also don't think he would trade him to Utah, so what's the deal?

If this was David Kahn the media and fans would be all over him. Just like when Kahn copped flak for offering a drafted rookie less than the full 120%. Teams don't have to but it's what is generally done.

It's absolutely the agent's job to know these kinds of things. Honestly I don't see how BJ doesn't get fired over this, he REALLY screwed DMo over with his incompetence.

Don't try to speculate shlt and finding excuses for your sorry idol until you can gather the facts.

Those are the facts, he is losing 6m right now because the match is only 4 years 31m. The Rockets have not told him they would honor the incentives - he is holding out.

What else do you want ?

If you 'already' know the facts, then share with us WTF about those 6 mils of bonus are related to ?

Is it the reward of him to be the MVP of the league? Or leading the league on rebounds? Or instead leading the league on falling to the ground? Or actually maybe the incentives about carrying the bags for James Harden for 65 games at least in a season?

And since you are on it, what exactly Morey told him about 'we are not going to honor the terms because you are a piece of shlt' and such? Share the script will you?

    If not, then GTFO.

The fiasco continues. Thank you Detroit for revoking that trade last year. Now we have to put up with all this drama when our team is playing some high level basketball. The chemistry is magical and the locker room is a all time high.
