AHA, so that is the beef his agent did not know about them not including the bonuses...and DMO is pissed off.....

DMorey should give in on the bonuses, and we can all go be happy.

Only reason they should sign D-Mo is if they plan on trading him soon. Otherwise, f*** him.

    This.

All this speculation about him playing 11-dimensional chess to sign with some other non-Rockets/Nets team is kind of absurd.

If there's a better offer out there, he would have signed it, as there have been literally 100+ days now for such to materialidentify.

Intentionally foreclosing other teams from offering you contracts strikes me instinctively as a horrible way to obtain a better contract, as an elementary principle of negotiation/contract law, and the suggestions that there's elaborate game theory at work seems too cute.

Not to mention the original suggestions that Utah is looking at him to replace currently injured Favors? Why supplement an injured player with a can't pass a physical injury risk who's 2 weeks away from game shape and skipped the entire season?

I don't think we can trade him this year because this dragged out so long.

    Why should he do that...

This is D-Mo's fault for not reading or inquiring about the bonuses...

He signed the contract and the Rockets matched it...

Because at the end of the day - in one hand you have a happy asset that will work hard on the court for your team - on the other you have a pissed off malcontent that can be a cancer on your team.

And it makes @Morey and @Les look like saints to DMo......thus making him very happy.

This is a MAJOR SCREW UP on BJ's part......

Well it certainly seems plausible that a guy was pissed that he lost 6m that he thought he had signed for....

This is worse than that time Anthony Carter's agent forgot to opt into his player option.

Its nice you lent some info on prevelance of tampering. However your "Get Over It" message is misdirected I think, just like the fits about tampering too.

I don't think people are on some morality high horse crusade for the "purity" and integrity of the game. This isn't back door DISCREET handling where everyone involved can stay hush-hush. D-Mo's camp MADE it into a PUBLIC scene. They waived their own "Part of the Game" protection.

They made it about "Our Honor vs Your Lack of Honor" almost like its some civil rights issue. On top of that they're inviting 3rd parties into this situation. D-Mo's camp OPENED THEMSELVES to observations of their own integrity, they can't expect to dish it but not take it.

And yes while things like flopping are weaved into the game, if the offense is TOO egregious, it can get a whistle call from officials. This is them bordering on 2004 Manu Ginobli long hair "flop" trying to get a favorable call. Part of the game if you do it right, but you can get burned too.

Sure, but the Rockets are able to match Brooklyn's incentives or put in some of their own, per heyp's Sean Mark tweets. That's something that would not have been negotiated yet.

Rockets was hinting on $1M as incentives when they offered the $7M 1year guarantee... so it fits over 4years I guess... wondering what could have been the new number
