Allen Crabbe, Tyler Johnson, Harrison Barnes were all RFAs that got huge contracts. RFA often works in favor of the players since the offers have to be high enough to pry them from the original team. Remember Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik? It is the DMos of the world who get hurt by the process because hardly any teams wanted him in the first place. Forget about the "alleged" physicals for a second, remember that the last time anyone has seen him play it was a 6 and 3 guy on 43%. What the hell does this even mean? How can a physical devalue him if it is just the condition to start honoring the contract he already signed? Unless of course, he can't pass the physical. Then I guess you are right, it would devalue him to zero.
Think about what you just said, vs screwing over the Utah Jazz. If he has info that this is tampering...like he appeared to say in the previous post, I'm not saying he has to help Utah keep secrets at all. I'm saying I will forever think of him as a misguided fool and lame Rockets fans, if he doesn't provide Morey with information that would F@CK over the Utah Jazz and BJ Armstrong. Who knows what damage a tampering judgement could do to Utah. Are you kidding me? Just to preserve sources and have fun on an internet BBS, you're going to give up the opportunity to screw the feaking Jazz. Are you kidding me?. You want to have fun. Fun is SCREWING THE ****ING JAZZ. That's how you have fun as a Rockets fan
Lol I dont think tampering matters, I mean the Rox told Dmo to get the best offer he can on the market. The problem here is BJ already submitted an offer, and the Rox already matched. Basically the deal is done, they cant go out and rescind the deal what would be their basis? Wow BJ is like performing career suicide if I'm a player no way am I getting this fool to represent me he's been bumbling throughout the negotiations
He didn't lose money by not accepting the QO or the $7 million guarantee. He signed for more. Now he's holding out for no physical and no matter which way it goes he still isn't going to lose money. Wait and see. I would say Yule C here but I'm not talking or hinting about Nerlens. The money that was discussed with DMo this summer was 3/45 to 4/60. But he was told we would match and then trade him in the summer. That's why sign-and-trade discussions took place. But the Rox (and perhaps the Nets too, I don't know that side) drug this thing all the way out without executing trade, waiting for something else to materialize, etc. So here we are. We can waive the physical and get DMo on the court, which will create an even higher trade and free agent demand for him and will almost assure he gets minutes as we then try to prove to the league he is healthy and a great bargain at these numbers or we can drag this thing out and put ourselves in a bigger bind by having to decide to match a contract that we can't move. You guys that think BJ is terrible have no idea. The other players are watching all this. BJ is fighting for his clients true value. He's ding a great job for DMo. You guys that said DMo should have signed the QO and the $7 million guarantee should admit that.
I am willing to bet that if this goes to a hearing DMo will immediately retain the services of: Spoiler
lol his client's true value. He should have thought of that when Detroit nixed the trade because of a failed physical. And FOR THE RECORD, no one here thinks BJs are terrible.
Do you see the contracts players are getting? Sure, it would be nice to get more but honestly I think the players are happy. RFA is a minor issue and it gives teams who drafted players a fair chance at retaining their players for possibly less money so they can remain competitive. It's not a big deal until the fringe players don't get paid because they hold out and everyone uses their cap space.
Based on this, DMo literally doesn't have a single other move. We can string this out to March 1, preventing him from signing with another team in the meantime, and then reissue the qualifying offer next summer.
"The whole business is corrupt so **** it!" is some immature nonsense. Pipe down Cyber. This isn't Vietnam, this is basketball. There are rules. We "cry about tampering" because we want to win. End of story. You are telling fans to take it in the buns without lube, when they SHOULD be pissed about Adam Silver not stepping in.
What "true value"? Isn't the only deal he could get after all these months in which he SIGNED AND AGREED on his "true value"?
You and I are Rockets fans, so we would love nothing more than to see the Jazz get ****ed. Cyberx is not affiliated with the Rockets at all. He shares insider info related to the Rockets and that's it. My question to you continues to be the same, why should cyberx give up that info? What practical purpose does it serve him?
Poor D-Mo, he can't catch a break. The last 2 years have been rough on him and timing just keeps screwing him. It's easy for me to say suck it up and play, but the offer on the table is much worse than the offer that's not. Utah is straight trolling.
When did Cybrex ever say he was a Rockets fan? I thought it was established he was an LA guy. Sounds like over the years he's heard tons of cases similar to this one, and is reacting the same way as say a finance executive would hearing the public complain about how this one bank created fake accounts to inflate their customer base.
