I agree, the industry smells bad from far away. But again, is this not the same in every industry? People become GM for learning how to exploit the system they face. Fair enough, now, should we try to use the tampering allegations as a negotiation technique? Not sure what I would do, but I´m sure someone has to be thinking about that in our FO and if it works, we should. But Cyberx, what do you think is the most likeliest outcome? I think our collective rage has to do more with uncertainty.
BJ Armstrong is the biggest joke of an agent in the league. I hope the Rockets burn his ass so other people don't try and pull this bush league crap.
What now? Another offer sheet? I thought we already have him by matching the Net's offer. Geez. This is getting way too annoying.
Are you suggesting he may have had this Utah offer (2y/23M) prior to signing the Nets offer sheet? If that's the case, then the weight of this lies solely on DMo and BJ.
If we waive the physical, we can definitely fine him. If we don't, it is unknown if we can or not. Either way, at this point, I want to see him fined each game he sits out.
Yeah I get the part about how we may have damaged his market value. That is understandable, and even agreeable to some point. Would like you to explain more about no losing money. How is that? Is someone paying his salaries? His agent? I don´t think this is going to make him more attractive to the other teams, that´s why I buy the Utah theory. It doesn´t make any sense otherwise.
Wait a freaking second. You have info that this is tampering and you are NOT passing it on to Morey. You are protecting your sources at the expense of helping Morey. Or does Morey likewise have the information that this is tampering. Are you saying the league doesn't care. What if Les as one of the 30 owners gets really pissed about this, and lodges a complaint. In my opinion, you are confusing the definition of tampering with when someone crosses the line enough for an owner to lodge a complaint, which requires investigation. imso, this is crossing the line. Either that, or like I said in my previous post...Utah gave the offer prior to the offer sheet, so are completely innocent, and BJ is doing this all on his own, hoping Morey would match to gain more information about his willingness to match. see previous post to you. Big question is: Does your info say Utah gave their offer prior to signing the offer sheet or after the offer sheet?
If you don't like RFA, take it up with the Player's Association. It's the agreed-to arrangement. He's undermining the intention/sanctity of the agreement by pulling this ****. He should have signed the QO like others have done in his situation.
Reposting here, must read... props to @RightTooCensor for heads up ↑ Larry Coon - What is Motiejunas doing?
True but the rockets have him to a legally binding contract, he legally obligated to report or not play and nut collect any money.
Cyberx, Please let Utah know that we will happily trade DMo to them for their first round pick after we eliminate them from the playoffs. Fins
My interpretation is simple: "This happens all the time and everybody knows it, the actual system does not allow or does not want to stop it for good (in my opinion, it is impossible to control) and since this happens, nobody goes out of the way looking for pics because that would unleash a war between all the teams" So, we won´t know what is going on behind the scenes.
So according to Larry Coon, we don't even need to waive the requirement to pass a physical? He can't sign with another team or receive any pay until he decides to show up? Beautiful.
