The exponential growth of ticket sales will work as an apology.

But we all judged this hire before playing a single game, didn't we?

Definitely not. Les hiring D'Antoni was about the rehabilitation of James Harden. He wants to increase the visibility/popularity of his franchise and since winning titles is a lot harder than scoring a bunch of points and getting highlights on Sportscenter he's done the most prudent thing in hiring D'Antoni. Les knows how it works and you can already see the usual suspects in the media starting to give Harden favorable press as a result.

We'll see how the win totals shake out at the end of the year once Gordon and Anderson have their inevitable injuries.

I am happily eating a plate of crow on the dantoni hiring. I think it is already clear that the "dantoni doesn't really care about anything but offense " perception is not really true. He seems like a well rounded coach who really knows what he's doing

Mike D's team with the Knicks were playing Defense when Melo was hurt. It's guys like Kobe and Melo that gave Mike D a bad rep.

Harden is making Mike D into a Hall of Fame coach.

Mike D is only one of 3 guys with 2 60 win seasons in the NBA right now

It's too early to tell is the only acceptable answer imho. Most people do not question D'Antoni's ability to coach in the regular season because of his offense. It's the lack of defense that his teams are much maligned for and that's still concerning for me once we make playoffs.

And its his ability or inability to guide teams through losing streaks, he has been known to ride the coattails of stars like Nash and Stats.

Once it's losing time, we won't know for sure.
