This is the year the Texans need to go all in on a quarterback. No, this isn't a bump.

We thought we were all in with Osweiler. He sucks. It seems he'll play out next year then be cut. In that same scenario, this upcoming draft should be the time for us to go all in and get the quarterback we want. Get the guy that we fall in love with during evaluations. Whether that be Watson, Trubisky, or Kizer, or someone else.

Outside of the offensive line, our team is pretty talented. We can withstand tow years without a first or second round pick. We can withstand another year or half year of Osweiler. As long as that means a new QB.

I'm leaning towards O'Brien being gone and having a new guy get his QB coming in. I'd still love for that to be Cowher or Gruden, but it seems that's far fetched.

The only thing that sucks about this whole situation is that you still don't know what you have in Tom Savage. At this point, it seems unlikely that you ever will. I guess he's destined to be that career backup that gets his chance in his tenth pro season.

Go all in on a rookie next year. I understand this doesn't always work out, but this team has to be desperate. The window is only so big.

Right now, I'm liking Mitch Trubisky. I'll edit if I change my mind. Trubisky has great feet in the pocket. Sneaky athleticism. Is extremely accurate. Pro style system. Only con is experience.

Your logic is solid but they really need to be honest with themselves and realize the best case scenario is win this **** division and maybe one home playoff game with the rest of the team carrying Brock.

4 games and potentially the playoffs would allow us to see what we have in Savage and potentially if he plays well have an open competition next year with a rookie and both current guys in their final year

What's up with the opining for Cowher and Gruden? Neither have coached for 10 years. The game has changed in that timespan and they'd certainly be rusty.

This is the year the Texans need an offensive line. No QB would succeed with the line we have now.

Every year needs to be the year. Keep drafting QBs every draft

    The year of the Cows

Sadly, this likely isn't the only one.

You are an upbeat and optimistic guy and I appreciate that.

However, do you REALLY want THIS front office and coach evaluating QB's and trading multiple high picks to move up? The same front office and coach that gave Brock Osweiler a $72,000,000 deal? The same front office and coaching staff that has insisted on not spending a top pick on a QB?

You have to CLEAN house and have a new front office and coaching staff before evaluating draft prospects and trading up for a QB.

Cowher and Gruden? They haven't coached in over a decade..... besides neither would take the job as long as Smith is the GM.

    WHAT????

You don't think have the brain trust of Smith and BOB trade multiple #1 picks to draft a QB is a good idea? What could possibly go wrong?

I can barely get on this forum it's so depressing.. I will watch every Texans game, cheer every time, and read the Astros forum.

On that note: where are we in the "Rockets make me appreciate the Texans > Texans make me appreciate the Astros > Astros make me appreciate the Rockets" cycle?

It's gonna be hard to get a QB, or go all in for one, when we already have so many question marks about the coach. It'll end up being Chicago with Cutler burning through coaches, or Bradley and Bortles.

I think Gruden, of the two, at least has kept up with the game enough to be successful still in the league. He's young, adaptable, and in my opinion, keeps his nose in the league enough to still make it as a coach.
