i'd totally throw in Martes, Paulino and Bregman to get Sale.

    Deep thoughts, Ken, deep thoughts.

    "if", "theoretically", "could"

Number of DH jobs available drops by one with the Yankees signing Matt Holliday. One less team to drive up the price.

Seeing quite a bit of optimism over the lineup. Yeah, they improved it a bit, but let's actually see the product on the field before we start getting ahead of ourselves. I'm not saying they should be offering Bregman or Springer, but it's not a bad thing if they are willing to deal with for a pitcher. We know how valuable pitching is, it's what got them to the World Series. I'm kind of meh on Archer, but Sale's case is interesting.

I want EE, but would take a CF like Fowler and a pitcher instead, let Beltran DH (I am still not sold on making Springer be CF).

That said. I would give EE whatever he wants to keep him from Rangers. That would be so frustrating.

I still think Luhnow is in on him. Especially with the way the market has developed.

Please not the Rangers man. It's bad enough Hamels chose them over us, not this too.

I wouldn't trade Bregman for Chris Sale.

Why would I trade 6 years of control of a player for 3 years?

Chris Sale isn't Babe Ruth.... there is absolutely no way in hell I am dealing Bregman, Tucker and Martes for Sale.

My understanding is that the Red Sox have been told to avoid the luxury tax, which one would assume would eliminate them from plopping down $100,000,000 on EE.

It is possible that the Rangers sign EE and then trade for Chris Sale..... would be sickly fitting if the Rangers end up with EE and Sale.

If the Astros are still interested in EE (and they should be), we will probably see Gattis and McHugh or Gurriel moved to cover the cost of the Beltran signing.

For some time I have personally felt they should have signed EE, moved some players to cover the cost of Beltran and let the pitching market play out on its own. There is no prospect cost, and there is likely to be someone that will be available at the deadline as well.

I hope they do just so I can watch Odor fight him in the dugout.

Anyone but the Rangers unless they give him a really absurd contract

This may just be me, but I'm high enough on Bregman that I don't put him in any trade deal right now. GG-level 3Bmen who can rake are incredibly hard to find.

Frankly I'd trade Correa before Bregman. I know that's crazy talk.

Sickly indeed. Lately they've been able to make the moves for the guys we want (Hamels, Lucroy), and they trolled us with good CarGo. Please, for my own sanity, this CANNOT happen!

Really hope this doesn't end up as a 3y/80mm deal for DAL
