Man, $9.5m/yr for FOUR YEARS is a horrible deal for DMo playing at 2015 levels. don't you think basketballholic. And it is REALLY bad if he signed this after turning down the deals you are reporting.

BJ is a moron for not having DMo sign that 4/60 deal. They lost roughly $26m for holding out. What was he thinking?

Well, you don't know that. Atlanta or Chicago may or may not be added to the list. The Sixers could trade Okafor and Noel. A team might be willing to try D-Mo at C. And why are you so stuck on this idea of us packaging D-Mo and Brewer together? It's like, you're fifth post referencing that, and it's just bizarre.

Maybe we trade Ariza. Maybe we trade Beverley. Maybe we attach a pick and young player to Brew. Depends on who we want to sign. You're simply assuming too much.

Sure, but Morey's was reported the same way. $7m with incentives to get it back to the $8m he originally offered in July. We all assume those are likely bonuses.

Games played are likeliest to me....and minutes.

I agree. I think both the Nets and DMo have concerns about his back. The Nets are willing to tie up money for the next two years, but are hoping that DMo turns into a major 4yr bargain or trade asset. DMo gets more than the 7 million guaranteed by the Rockets, but will lose out big time if he stays healthy and produces for the Nets. I don't think DMo is real confident about staying healthy. It seems like a reasonable agreement for both the Nets and DMo. They both seem to be getting what they want.

But we are not necessarily talking about a starting 4, more like a 6th/7th player in a rotation able to play PF/C, i think this may be interesting for more teams.

And you are not forced to trade him WITH Brewer to the same team, not sure why you're forcing that, we don't even know if Brewer will be here at the deadline this season...

Morey offered him $8m in July. And the recent $7m was reported by Stein and Watkins to have incentives to get it back to $8m.

You realize that you just listed 2 Power Forwards (we already wasted 20 mil a year at that position, not going to throw a max at anyone else there), a New Orleans player who has averaged about 45 games per year the last 3 seasons (given Anderson and Gordon, possibly right up our alley!) and a SF which would mean you'd need to move Brewer, Ariza or both before signing a high price FA there plus with Dekker coming on, is that really where you want to spend money?

Torn here. Great deal if he is 2015 DMo. Everything about this suggests that he doesn't think his back can hold up. I won't be mad either way.

anybody else getting a sort of Eugene Landy vibe about DMo's agent? "I'll finally be able to play." What's been stopping him?

4 year 37 mil first 2 years guaranteed. I'd roll the dice and match.

    Why not?
Our plan for this season was to be a fun team with great chemistry, show that there is no turmoil in the organization and we have moved on after last season, and aim for home court for the playoffs or as many wins as possible to be more attractive to free agents. Everymore, except Blake is likely.

Maybe it really was all about guaranteed money .
he knows the rockets will have to do a physical to decide to match

It's marginal risk for Morey vs his $8m offer in July, and HUGE reward for four years if DMo returns to 2015 form.

You have to match this. It's such a no-brainer DMo is in Houston right now, obviously expecting a Match.
