Yes, but we are comparing a starter - DMo to an end of bench player. But I guess whatever side of the discussion you want to take...let's just wait to see the offer. DD
DMo would probably be the strongest post player on the Rockets if he rejoined the team. I'm not saying he would be as athletic as Capela but those instances that Capela was easily dislodge from position, DMo would easily hold his ground and do a pump fake or wait for the defender to clear before putting it in the goal. Nene is just old and useless overall... Seems to not comprehend timing and gets block multiple times in a row trying to dunk it...
in realgm the BKN insider said that the offer will be around 40/3 and the one to be cut will be...FOYE? 0_0
3/40 million? If that last year isn't guaranteed I'll bite and match. Otherwise, have fun playing in Brooklyn with Lin.
Except he went 5 months without making any offer the DMo. Seems this is more proof than not that the Market (via the Nets previous two offers this year) did not give DMo what he wanted....that is, why didn't Marks give one to DMo after two failed attempts. Why's he waiting until now to give DMo something to sign? My guess is DMo rejected him before and his number is finally falling. We'll soon see. Let's hope so, so Morey will match it.
Question for the capologists... Someone on the RealGM board said that offers to RFAs have to be at least 2 years, with no options (player/team) on the first two years. Anyone know if that is correct?
This is Trader_Joe's post you're referring to? Spoiler: Trader_Joe's post in RealGM:Trades & Transactions thread Re: Stein: Nets prepping an offer sheet for Motiejunas Post#51 » by Trader_Joe » Today 3:32 pm So, I'm "hearing" Foye will be the one cut. Also, I'm guessing 3/40 will be the deal and the same insider said it was a good guess, though he claims he hasn't heard any numbers. 14/13.5/13 Descending with a TK and bonuses. If he's healthy (and Lin and LeVert should be back soon) this could be an interesting mix. Lin / Whitehead / Ferrell Bogdanovic / Kilpatrick / Harris RHJ / LeVert Booker / D.Mo / McCullough Lopez / Hamilton / Scola / Bennett I would try to move Scola, but apparently D.Mo idolized him growing up and he's is a great locker room guy. Next one out would be Bennett for me, but for some reason the team seems to like him and thinks he's salvageable. Too many bigs, but wouldn't be surprised if we see some Booker at SF.
does anybody here follow BKN? Trevor Booker, who the post above has starting over D.Mo is on an $18M/2yr contract. So the offer to D.Mo is supposedly $13M a year, just for him to come off the bench? And it seems like D.Mo is too similar to Brook Lopez in that neither is an athletic defender for pick and rolls or help defense. They already have a terrible defense and this does nothing to address it. I have a hard time believing their new GM wants a role player who doesn't quite mesh perfectly with their team but if the offer really is that high for 3 years then I say let him walk. DMo doesn't push us enough either direction.
