I think this last part is what I sensed last night as well. There was no giving up, no sluggishness (other than that pesky ISO ball for the last 4-5 minutes, I expect D'Antoni will correct that eventually), and no rolling over. There was a grit there that I don't remember seeing in recent memory. I don't know if that's a corner, but it's definitely a significant development I think.

    Not yet. Chill out

Last night was the game where we got on the same page and we can now SEE the corner. We haven't turned it yet

However, if we win tonight, it would mean we have the legs and can now proceed to officially turn that corner we have been seeing

I don't know if it was corner or not. But this was a huge game mentally and emotionally. They needed this win. For the last three years Golden state has stuck a red rubber ball in the rockets mouths and put us in a box labeled gimp. Do we beat them in a series. Who the hell knows. I know we now have a better chance than before simply because the rox now know they can win at the oracle. So for last night I say, Harden and crew spit the red ball out and fought back.

Good point. We need to have our legs to walk around the corner.

Let's see if our legs make it to Denver.

What I like is that the bench stepped up. Young guys like Dekker and Harrell showed that they are hungry and can definitely contribute. Gordon has been nothing but amazing coming off the bench. I know D'Antoni likes to keep his rotation short but I'm hoping that KJ gets out of that doghouse and Wiltjer gets some garbage minutes so that they both can prove their worth.

I'm not sure how much the game tells us about this team & its ceiling -- however, I think it was VITAL for their confidence. That could be a huge intangible boost.

He has. But there are two problems now; some times he trusts his teammates at the expense of trying for a layup. Other times, he is trying to rifle a pass into the lane through three defenders. I'd like to see him stay aggressive, too.

We'll end up 4th or 5th probably, and that's what this roster can pretty much reach at this best imo. That's good though, especially for a team projected to reach the no.8 seed (at best) like some superduper analyst said...lol.

We used to have two cornerstones. Now we only have one. Turning the corner with one cornerstone should be twice as easy (or should I say half as difficult)?

Yea. I don't see them outpacing Golden State, San Antonio, and The Clippers in the regular season. So a first round matchup against the thunder with us holding home court looks like their destiny

Teams have been guarding the 3pt line on us. That is what gives Harden the lane to blow right past his defender to force the help defense to collapse and boom: kick out to a wide open 3.
Help defense stays with their man on the perimeter? Okay. Harden drives for either an easy layup or Capela alley-oop.

This team will get a TON of great looks from the 3pt line due to Harden being such a dynamic offensive talent. The difference this year is that we finally have multiple GOOD shooters who can take advantage of the open looks they are getting. When Harden sits, Gordon has shown he can keep the team afloat by creating for the offense with some help from Nene (good passer from high post) and Dekker (moves well without the ball).

We were a .500 team last year in an absolute WORST case scenario for this ball club. I believe the sample size thus far is an accurate representation of what we have in the 2016-17 Houston Rockets: a #4 seed in the West. And that's after we played 14 of our first 20 games on the road.

Today's reaction to the game illustrates how perfectly knee jerky this board is.

All the threads that hang around way too long and circle the same themes like:
    - Need to trade for Gay
    - Get anderson out
    - Dekker is a bust

All get bumped and the tone immediately changes to:
    - we never needed gay!
    - give ryan anderson more money!
    - Dekker should start!

Folks, it was a solid win...that's it. One game should only contribute to a body of work by this team and it's players. If you find your opinion is truly changing after last night, take a breath.

Yep, even though i'd say the Jazz if healty will end up ahead of the Thunder for sure, maybe ahead of us too, not sure, but i think they're definitely a better team than OKC, and tbh, i would like to play OKC much more than the Jazz in the playoffs.

I don't know if we can say that yet.

Way to many ISO possessions down the stretch.

I doubt Anderson and Gordon will be on fire like this every game that's the problem

we need everyone to contribute, this team has potential, but they sometimes default too much on Harden

This was impressive, no doubt but I can't buy this team until we become at least 10-15th in defensive rating.

If they beat Denver tonight then I would say then yes you could potentially look as this road trip as turning the corner. Being able to go 4-1 on a west coast road trip is not an easy task at all to do. 3-2 would be acceptable in my eyes but to me at least I think there is something to say about the players and especially the coaching if the team and turn around and win tonight.

It was but one corner through a many cornered season....

But yeah. That's a corner turn for sure, how could it not be? Double OT against the Golden Boys? With Draymond kicking, Durant hitting 30 and allllllll the frowny faces from the pundits? Hell yes it was a corner and it got TURNT.
