Which ROLE player on last year's roster could have had this kind of night against a team like the Warriors last year? Hell, freaking Eric Gordon over the past 3 games is posting 24+ ppg and shooting over 50% from the 3.
Hope people are noticing GS having to play the Rockets defensively in a different way than they're used to previously. GS loved to crowd the paint and shade different guys towards Harden continously. They lived with a lot of 3 pt shooting prior. Harden got his but they didn't let the other guys beat them in the end. Now with our added personnel, they add a different dynamic to the floor and it makes their guys hesitant to leave great shooters like EG/Ryno. Which again goes back to this spacing. Basically comes down to pick your poison now. At least for last night, our other guys made them pay big time. It'll be interesting how GS plays defensively the next time around and what they will try to do.
In our two biggest wins @SPURS and @warriors ryno had been clutch. Hit daggers. Everyone else on the team not named Beard or Gordon would be scared to take those shots. Ryno is that offensive X factor that every contender has
I don't remember exactly which one it was, but that was a sequence where Golden State was imploding because they were experiencing a rare situation of calls not going their way. It was fantastic to watch.
I actually think it's sustainable for Gordon to avg 22-24ppg in this offense. He gets the ball a lot even when he's on the court with harden. I also like his playmaking. 5 assist last night and I think 7 a couple games ago.
I know everyone is worried about Gordon not staying healthy, but we have to assume he can and give him 34 to 36 minutes a game. Although I want and think he should start, I would be happy if MDA just gave him the full 34 to 36 minutes per game no matter what. He can even be off through a full half and then still get it going in the next half just like Harden does, although differently.
