Pretty sure UH matched his UT offer. I know you like to look down at lowly UH as if they have nothing to offer but gone are the days where we can't afford expensive coaches. UT wasn't outbidding UH for an unproven non-Saban. He didn't leave because of money.

A lot of UH fans became Sooner and Tiger fans due to his departure. LSU basically told him to go eff himself for both his request and his agent making them look bad. He handled this so damn poorly that I have a hard time thinking of a coach that left in a similar fashion. He literally made enemies out of two schools (and some powerful boosters) in one fell swoop.

    Good job Tom.

He wanted 6 million from LSU and LSU wouldn't pay. Was he going to get that from UH?
if he didn't leave for the money why did he leave?

I know that Herman was only there for 2 years and that there were rumors he was leaving this entire year.

So ,as a UH fan, why do you think he left?

I'm not sure if this is a serious question or not.

I hope Herman has NFL aspirations and he lies his ass off to UT.

Donny pump the brakes on the sour grapes - Herman left for a better job. That's human nature. He gave you some exciting years at UH. Thank him and move on.

Bigtexxx gets it but Tubman doesn't.

I would've corrected my iPhone autocorrect of your handle but honestly I think it's just my iPhone looking out.

Coaches are like anyone else. They want to move up. They want more money. They want the bigger office. They want the job they view as the best job.

Most coaches will say and do anything along the way to reach their goal. They are nothing more than salesmen. Fans keep blindly buying what they are selling.

I am appreciative for what we got out of it. I've said as such.

Man, these UH boosters sure are sensitive. They are too rich to be publicly crying like this. This is how it goes in big-boy ball.

If you were to tell me 3 years ago that Les Miles would have interest in the Houston job, I would call you crazy.

Say what you want about Herman and the manner in which he left (doubt anyone is happy with how it unfolded but it is over), the fact is, we are much better off with his two years here than we were following the 3 years under Levine. And we should be thankful for that. Need to just move on now.

Back to Les, we need to hire him ASAP. If there is any truth about him being interested, give him whatever he wants and then some (that $5M we were offering Herman, give it all to him). He is a guy who knows what it takes to win (one of five active coaches with a title), recruits very well (and highly experienced in recruiting this area) and a highly respected household name.

At 63 years of age, I highly doubt he is trying to launch himself in a stepping stone (his legacy is set in stone at this point as a great coach, in fact, if you were to stack up his resume against ANY coach in the nation not named Nick or Urban, Les wins easily). He can win a lot of games here, continue to bring elite talent here and possibly help us get into a P5.

Bringing Les Miles will make losing Herman a blessing.

LMAO. I'm not even a Coog, and here I sit proud as can be.
    TY Mr. Fertitta and Mr. Schroeder! #Htown. #ForgiveButDon'tForget. #EverybodyDOESN'TDoIt. #PutTheASSinClass #ChampionshipsWhenConvenient #HermClown #6thinAAC=/Big12Nat'lTitle

A few days ago when I gave up my crusade in this thread plenty of you were left wondering exactly what I wanted to see. Well, the day I stopped posting was the same day Mr. Fertitta gave his interview on 610 and so it began....

These guys are seasoned gentlemen. They aren't predisposed to behave this way just because they get a little butthurt. They also aren't trolling for "Interenet Badass" awards.

Whether you want me or not Coogs I'm back in your corner baby! I couldn't have asked for a better 48 hrs with respect to this topic.

You're only a stepping stone for as long as you don't do anything about it. That's all I was saying. And Herman didn't just do what "Everyone..." does. That's all I was saying. I'm hopeful that despite our disagreements these gentlemen coming forward with these caliber of comments can help bridge the gap on our viewpoints.reach on!

Sensitive or are they shedding light on who TH really is? He held his players to the core values of integrity and honesty but couldn't hold himself to those same values.

People talk about the old-school UT boosters and whatnot, but they at least stay off of twitter.

    Stay classy.
