I think you have to save for the first playoff game. You're still many games away from being in the world series, you play to win tomorrow.

Off topic...your sig is really really long. You can use the spoiler tag.

And now back to the regularly scheduled topic...

    More leakage!

Agents/players really like using the Astros as a mouthpiece to get other teams attention.

They are now part of the defined 15 "major markets" and those markets do not receive revenue sharing. Since (I assume) they are the only team moving into that classification, their revenue sharing will be phased out over a few years.

Sounds similar to what Crane initially turned the Astros into as part of the master plan to pay off debt, stock-pile picks, and collect revenue sharing profits initially.

Glad to see that there are now structured guidelines in place to somewhat mitigate this.

Fixed. It can be hard not to want to express everything in your signature. :)

How the hell are the Rangers in position to make an offer to EE? I thought they were very limited in what they could offer given their already bloated payroll?

I'm not sure but any of those are much better than the ASG being the determining factor. Not a fan of the Cubs by any means but they won over 100 games and should have had home field in the WS. They won anyway but still. F&ck Bud Selig.

It looks like they're in on Hill and not EE. But I hate them so much. Darvish is a FA after next year. It would be funny if they lost him.

Had they continued with the alternating years, the Indians would still have had home field advantage.

Was it alternating years? I thought it was the team with the best regular season record

Sadly if they sign both EE and Beltran it likely means Bregman is going out for an ace. I think that's a bad idea, but no matter what this team is going to be exciting in 2017.

I would keep Breg and just unload the farm with George attached.

That would make the most sense.

Bregman potentially is the best player 2 years from now in a Sale deal.

It was alternating years until they changed to the All-Star game winner which started in 2003.

I would be absolutely stunned if Bregman was moved. You don't trade potential >5 WAR, up the middle talent under club control.

Starting to feel like we will get Beltran on a two-year deal.

But what if we got both Beltran and EE...

Agreed. Team would be favorite in AL. For sure.
