I actually tend to agree with yours. I think Bregman becomes the leadoff guy eventually.

Hopefully next year is the year Correa's already good bat joins the elite status that Machado and Trout have experienced.

Correa felt really inconsistent last year which was strange.

I'm really interested to see what a full year in the lineup is going to do for Bregman and Gurriel. I have a feeling those two are going to make a lot of noise this upcoming season.

I think that's partly because pitchers weren't forced to throw to Correa. I guess BAL/LAA doesn't have incredible protection either, but our revolving door behind Correa (mostly Rasmus or Gattis) obviously didn't force any pitchers' hand. Hopefully that changes soon.

As a side-note, I agree that Bregman, or maybe Altuve, take the leadoff spot. I advocated Altuve in the 3-hole last year, but maybe that need is alleviated with our additions. I think a lineup below fits our hitters roles perfectly:

    Altuve
    Bregman
    Correa
    EE
    Springer
    Yuli
    McCann
    Gattis
    Reddick

Oddly enough, IMO, I think Bregman would have to put up a 4 WAR or higher in order for it to impact the team at third base. I think we overlook Valbuena's 2.4 WAR in his 90 games last year.

I am excited to see what those two can do, though!

Man, I think we have a winner with that lineup, nicely done! That would be the deepest lineup in the AL, and second to only the Cubs in the league. That would be fun to watch over 162.

The thing I'm most looking forward to next season....beating the snot out of the Rangers all season and taking the division title.

The crazy thing is Bregman, Correa, and Springer could all potentially improve in addition to these acquisitions. Maybe Altuve does better and I won't bet against the guy, but that was close to a career year last year for him.

I have to make a decision between Altuve and Correa as my keeper for fantasy this coming season. I honestly don't know which way to go.

    Altuve.

Correa is still young and will have slumps. Astros lineup has the potential for 4-5 guys to be red hot at given times

You do whatever you have to do outside of trading Altuve/Correa/Bregman to get Sale if available. Period. End of Story.

Sale is like the Astros trading for Randy Johnson in 98 except you have him under control for a few more years. He is that much of a lock as an Ace pitcher for years to come.

The potential addition of EE, and the fact that you have already acquired Aoki and Reddick makes George Springer expendable if it means you add a Sale type pitcher. It will deplete the lower farm system but sends the pro club to another level.

I wonder if in the search for an Ace if Luhnow would consider a package for Matt Harvey? The Mets need a CF in the worst way, they also need a catching prospect.

    I would offer Springer/Stubbs/Brady Rodgers/Moran for Harvey.

Any trade for Sale is going to start with Bregman. The White Sox literally have no incentive to trade him if they aren't getting exactly what they want. The Astros know this, so if they're willing to sit down at the negotiating table with Chicago, it means they have accepted Bregman as a centerpiece in a trade. Of course, crazier things have happened, but I'd be VERY shocked if Chris Sale and Alex Bregman were teammates on the Astros.

Fangraphs had an excellent article today about why the alex bregman trade train has left the station and aint coming back.
There is about as much chance of bregman getting traded as there is of james harden getting traded. Bregman has made the transition from prospect that you might trade to help build the core to now being an essential part of the core.
    That ship has sailed.
    Hes not being traded.

Sign Encarnacion. Trade everything for Miguel Cabrera and Chris Sale.

Daz Cameron, AJ Reed, Francis Martes, Colin Moran, Teoscar Hernandez for Cabrera

Kyle Tucker, David Paulino, Derek Fisher, Forrest Whitley, Franklin Perez, Riley Ferrell for Sale

Throw in whatever minor leaguers you think would work.

    Roster:
    C - McCann/Gattis
    1B - Cabrera/Gurriel
    2B - Altuve/Marwin Gonzalez
    SS - Correa/Marwin Gonzalez
    3B - Bregman/Gurriel
    DH - Gurriel/Gattis
    LF - Encarnacion/Aoki
    CF - Springer/Marisnick or Kemp
    RF - Reddick/Marisnick or Kemp

    Lineup:
    1. Springer
    2. Reddick
    3. Altuve
    4. Cabrera
    5. Correa
    6. Encarnacion
    7. McCann
    8. Gurriel
    9. Bregman
    Rotation:
    Sale
    Keuchel
    McCullers
    McHugh
    Musgrove

    Bullpen:
    Morton
    Devo
    Feliz
    Sipp
    Harris
