This is very true. The goal should be 45-50 wins with maybe a first round upset. That's about it.

That doesn't excuse last night's Raptors game from being one of the more pathetic performances in recent memory.

Well, we finally won a game when Harden shot poorly.

Well, actually, Knicks and Jazz are .500 teams. Also you said "we haven't been able to hang with the good teams." We took both Cleveland and OKC down to the wire ... we blew the OKC game. And both of those were away games. That's "hanging with the good team" surely.

What's impressive is we are 6-4 on the Road, and +3.6 pt differential. Both of those are good indicators of W/L success. Also, by the end of this weekend, we will have played twice as many Road games and Home games -- having played two 5-game road trips.

Considering the brutal road schedule and Bev being out, I think we are doing much better than expected ... 10-6

    bottomline:
What we are describing here is a 50 Win team. A team that "beats the teams we ought to beat", can win on the road, has a good pt differential and can hang with the good teams.

    Your bottomline is fair enough.

And I agree that Bev's injury may have some impact. With that, we may still improve. I'm just looking at what we have done so far, not taking into consideration of possible improvement. Besides, many of our core players have had some injury histories.

I am still holding my breath about being able to hang with the good teams. Except the Spurs, all the road wins are against weak teams. And we lost at home to two good teams. We may or may not win 50 games in the regular season. But not being able to beat the good teams at home and on the road does not bode well in the playoffs.

    Yeah, I'm a glass-half-empty kind of guy. :(

so here we are again. Venting-wise, I got nothing. Game sucked, but I'm not too upset about it.

Amelioration-wise, the Clippers lost. So it was a good night.

Back to venting. I fear a loss to GSW is imminent

It is. But that's fine, we expect that. The Denver game on a back to back is gonna be very tough, but win that to get to 3-2 on the road trip and you take that. I'm not sure we will win that game given our recent Denver performances, but we'll see.

Every single favored team LOST tonight to the WORST teams in the NBA. The league isn't going to collapse or anything. Bad night for all

The Jazz are a different team with George Hill. They actually have the 5st best score differential in NBA so they're not an easy team

Maybe this can help you feel better.

In the history of the NBA, no one has ever beaten a team who shot 50-50-85 with <= 8 TOs (and at least 11 3s made)

    The league is now 15-0

Shockingly (imo) the league is 34-2 when you remove the number of 3s made qualifier. I would have thought there would be 100s and 100s of those games, when you allow for any number of 3s made.

Not so much a need to vent today, but boy, that was one of the more disappointing losses in recent memory. Those turnovers were just stupid. On the bright side, we definitely can keep up with the Spurs, even with Capela out and crappy shooting. But that one is going to sting for a while. We had it, and we let it go. :(

we still made history, 5 for 38 for 3s, lowest percentage when shooting that many 3s, Sas actually had more turnovers than us, 19 vs our 16, we played good defense before harden came back in the 4th quarter, Coach MD should have kept the same lineup which started the fourth quarter to finish the game, we win for sure

I'll tell you one thing......I wouldn't want to be Phoenix right now. The Rockets might drop 30 3's on their head. I have a feeling guys like Harden, Gordon, and Anderson were pissed after last night.

Haven't had to use this thread all that much this year. But tonight it feels needed.

Vent: the refs. I don't normally bash the refs, but wtf??? agree with whoever said we got called for ticky tacky fouls, and the Grizz got to mug us on the other end.

I honestly can't think of anything redeeming about this one. Someone help me out there.

The way the game was called down the stretch was atrocious

But our play was also atrocious.

This team is really struggling with physical play which is what we feared as a preview to the playoffs. We need more muscle inside, and not have Corey Brewer trying to lead us back into the game single handedly.

Only thing I can think of is if we just hit 4 more of our OPEN threes to reach 37% for the evening we win 117-110. But. We didn't.
