Rudy has been playing the 4 nice and he would def be our starting 4, not sure how reliable his 3 point shot is though, but he is at least an athletic jumper who can put the ball n the floor and score. And their was a bidding war for Anderson between the kings and the rockets in the summer, so the inrest and thrist is real for the kings

the only way I would want rudy on this team is if we can trade brewer and kj for him and have him come off the bench with ariza still starting but that's probably unlikely.

Yes I would indeed do that to clear cap space in the offseason. There is a potential 2010 Miami Heat scenario in which we sign Paul George and Paul Millsap if we can clear 2 max slots with the cap going up and clear some room by getting rid of Brewer, possibly Ariza, and definitely Ryan Anderson. Its a stretch but im sure players would love to be set up by Harden in this offense

Heck no. We are rolling and the chemistry is a thing of beauty. So why would you even suggest a thing like this?

Plus we just signed the dude to a hefty contract. Therefore he is not going anywhere any time soon.

Swapping Ryan Anderson for Rudy Gay would be a bad trade for Houston. Trading Brewer + fillers for Gay to add depth to the bench makes more sense. Rudy Gay is a good player but he is an inconsistent 3 point shooter and he would not be able to space the floor like Ryan Anderson would.

Ryan Anderson has his flaws no doubt but his presence on the floor with an elite and gifted passer like James Harden will always keep defenders honest. This is why Harden has more room to operate. When Harden has spacing, it is tougher for defenses to collapse on Harden, the lane is more open to attack, which then forces defenders to rotate away from their men and gives Harden many options such as lobbing it up to Capela, dishing it to the sides to Ariza or Beverly, or find Ryan Anderson sliding to an open spot.

The last few years when the Rockets have PF who were below average 3 point shooters, it makes things much tougher for the offense and especially for Harden. The years of Josh Smith and Terrence Jones who every now and then have decent - good shooting nights, but are too often streaky. Rudy Gay is a talented offensive player but he is also a streaky shooter that relies on his athleticism and attacking the rim. The Rockets have needed a legitimate stretch PF for years and tried to make D-Mo, Jones, Smith into one.

That's why the Rockets were willing to pay Ryan Anderson that much money. He isn't an all star and his defense is below average. But he is a great shooter and his accurate range give this team a new dimension and makes the Rockets offense much deadlier than years past.

Straight up no way in hell unless we're sure someone is willin to sign here in the summer. But if they can give us a first rounder (which i dont' think they have) with Gay, or take Brewer for Tolliver and a couple of 2nds or WCS yes.

You don't clear two players with the talent of Anderson and Ariza in the hopes (albeight small) of signing two other players that are just slight upgrades and take away the chemistry that this starting unit has together. That's ass backwards in building a team.

Also, trading a player like Anderson not a season after he wanted to be here is a bad sign too every FA in the league who might want to play here that he is just leverage. That's the message George and Milsap will recieve and that will scare them away.

    No way in hell.

Depends on if DM is having buyers remorse on Ryno... If he wants to ship him now for another bite at the free agent apple next offseason...
O/w i'd do it if DMo was back in the fold...

Yes. But I don't like gay as the starting pf. I think he'd help us coming off the bench.

Blake griffin is the only star hitting free agency and he's not leaving LA to come here. The rest of the free agents are not that good
