ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Blazers 11/27/2016

What's odd is a lot of the roster is the same. Harden, Ariza, Bev, Brewer, Harrell, Capela, McDaniels, Dekker(granted, he missed almost the entire season). Was Dwight the main culprit? Were McHale and JB vastly inferior to D'Antoni?

 

I think this might have been our first game that we scored 30 plus points in each of the 4 quarters!

 

Thanks for giving this disgruntled Texans fan something to smile about tonight. These last couple games have been so much fun to watch. I am loving it! Clint, James, Trevor, and Eric were on fire tonight!! Great teamwork from everyone. The chemistry is working. What's even more exciting is the talent we have backing up our bench with KJ, Harrell, Wiltjer and crew.

 

Great start to the road trip.

 

What I liked about the game.
Capela: 33 minutes, 3-4 fts, 21 pts, 9rbs(damn I short)
Harden: only 34 minutes & 34p/10a
After giving away rbs early, came back to win rbs race 36-35
Only 11 to's

 

That Thunder loss still haunts me. We could challenge for a Top 3.

 

Yeah I think Dwight was the main culprit for sure. He straight up gave up on plays seemingly because he didn't get his touches. I remember he used to not even try to play help defense on Harden's man. Almost as if he wanted to expose Harden or show him he was frustrated with the lack of opportunities on offense. Once that feud came to boil, McHale lost control. JB was just a lame duck extension of McHale. He's not ready to coach anyway. Partying with the players as a hype man isn't the best look for a head coach.

 

fave moment was the swing pass sequence with Gordon -> Anderson --> Ariza for the open 3 to put the game out of reach and Ariza and Anderson jumping into each to celebrate.

We could play those last 5 minutes 100x over and we don't lose. I've gotten over the Lakers loss after seeing them destroy very good teams at home but that OKC loss still hurts. They're awful.

 

They all were at fault. The entire locker room was divided once we didn't resign Howard's boy Josh Smith. From that point on it was all down hill. Harden didn't show up to camp in shape. His home boy some how some way lost his game in a bottle of Jack Daniel's (Ty Lawson). Brewer lost whatever game we all thought he had. Dmo's injury then the rescinded trade by Detroit. T. Jones game was stripped by the homeless God's. Karma is a beast. The list goes on and on.

 

i remember when rockets fans said morey sucks at drafting first round picks.

did bev fall back down to earth? i see he looks different in terms of body and movement, but i just didnt expect him to come right in and contribute. he looked good on d though.

 

Coming into tonight, Harden and Gordon were our worst 3PT shooters from regular players.

You're tripping MDA is a good coach.

 

Harden is one of the best guards to play the pick and roll in a long time and Capela is more than willing to run it, unlike Howard. The spacing with Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon allow for Harden to take much easier shot attempts as you can see in his increased FG% this year over last. D'Antoni is also a much, much better coach than the other two.

 

I busted out laughing at that. it was great.
