We have 6 losses against teams with a combined record of 62-34 ( .646).

We have ten wins against teams with a combined record of 53-72 (.424).

Out of ten wins only three of those wins are against teams with winning records, Spurs(13-2), Knicks (8-7), Jazz (9-8).

Of our six losses 5 came against teams with winning records and only one loss to a team with a losing record, the Lakers at 8-9.

We are 3-5 against teams with a winning record and 7-1 against teams with a losing record.

We are mediocre. Good enough to beat losing teams most of the time, and lose to winning teams most of the time.

Agreed we do have the potential to make a blockbuster trade. Will it materialize by the deadline?

We also have the potential to have one injury kick us to the lottery. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

How many games we played at home and how many on the road?

We have played the 5th or 6th toughest schedule (by strength of schedule) in the league thus far. We are the 5th seed right now in the West. We are better than mediocre vs the 29 other teams.

For some people, things have to be painted worse than they are to fit a narrative.

We're 6-4 on the road, 3-1 against sub .500 teams and 3-3 against winning teams.

We're 4-2 at home, 3-0 against losing teams and 1-2 against winning teams.

    That's your definition.

My definition of mediocre is simply able to beat most bad teams but unable to beat most good teams.

Look where we are. If the playoffs started today we'd be on the road against Memphis. As currently constructed....We're not beati ng Memphis in a 7 game series. That's mediocrity. First round playoff exit. I'd rather have ping pong balls than watch a first round exit.

It's not my definition. It's THE definition. Mediocre:

We are better than mediocre. Obviously, you meant it in your own way, I get it.

If the playoffs started today, we would be filing a lawsuit with the league for having an unfairly difficult schedule and playing more away than at home. And still we'd be 5th seed in the tougher conference. And we would beat Memphis, who incidentally have played the 27th most difficult schedule in the league and have the same record as us.

Why would the team be any better than this? The talent on this team is not that good. It's through Harden's incredible play, MDA's early success and what looks like great chemistry on the court. Gordon and Nene are good signings at their prices, and Anderson while overpaid is still paying nice dividends on the court. The roster talent is mediocre, the performance has been stellar considering the schedule and the roster. Yes it would be nice to tank but neither me, you or Morey own this team and the person who owns it has always been against tanking. Would love for it to happen, but it's not happening. We're going all in this summer, and Morey would be an idiot to compromise an ounce of our 2017 purchasing power at the expense of a bump in performance this season.

We don't have the pieces for a blockbuster trade where we receive an elite talent, that's nonsense. Unless that elite talent is performing SO poorly that they could be bought cheap, it's going to take a miracle for us to change our fortunes to exceed your definition of "mediocre" this season. For that reason, we need to develop the young guys and master this system around Harden. That's what will carry over to the championship window starting next season.

"Mediocre" is so incredibly overused by sports fans, it's not surprising that seemingly everyone uses it differently. The word actually means "not very good", it's a pejorative term that really means below average but every time someone uses it in a sports context, they are usually talking about a player or team that is average to above average.

This might be my favorite Bobbyholic post ever. He actually asserts that his definition of the word is better than that of the dictionary, and that fans who use it in the way the dictionary defines it are incorrect.

Even though he won't help a lot better, especially spacing, but I'd be willing to trade Ryan Anderson for Rudy Gay and filler.

You might want to read all of that again kiddo, "my definition" IS the dictionary definition. So yeah, fans who use it in ways OTHER than the dictionary definition are wrong. Thanks for trying.

Y'all be hating. You know he killed it against the clippers and was a valuable player that year. JBB also never even let him play last year to even show anything. That boy can pass too

Not saying he's amazing but when I'm drunk he would get me hyped

I just want him to shoot when he's open.

I'm glad he can hit the 30 footer but that's the only time you're going to be THAT open.

    80 million. SHOOT.
