Could've also ran out more of the clock on the last offensive drive during yesterday's Memphis game. Pretty much the UH equivalent of UT losing to KU.

    The salt is real.

Tom owes his players an explanation.

    That's about it though.

The staff knows what this business is like.

If Tom's dream job is UT, I'm not going to fault him for taking it.

The opportunity may never come again.

Good for him. Our program is in a better place now than it was when we hired him.

We move forward to bigger and better things.

    Exactly.

I know you're a bigtime UH supporter Donny, but I respect that you're not unrealistic and not delusional like some of your fellow UH fans.

Herman did exactly what he should have done during the last few weeks -- just say "no comment". Sounds like some UH fans in this thread would want him to publically lie instead.

Also like you mentioned Donny, his agent and Herman are not the same person. It's definitely plausible that Herman himself did not directly meet in person before the Memphis game.

    Where's Nook??

The coaching profession isn't really all that different than most other professions. Coaches want to move up the ladder and reach the top. Why wouldn't they? What makes it different is that players and fans get emotionally attached to these guys. So, when a coach moves up the ladder, then people get their feelings hurt.

What I don't get is why wouldn't Herman get the same amount of scorn from UH fans as Briles, and Sumlin did? Often times when a breakup occurs, things get messy. It got messy with Briles, and Sumlin. But, it also got a little messy with Herman too.

I really don't think any of these coaches deserve to be criticized. They all did good work when they were at UH. Sure, their exits weren't as clean as some would like. But, often that's they way it is in the coaching business.

Why would any truly great coach do that??

At least when UH hired Herman, he agreed to do it only after he finished the CFP with tOSU.

We all thought he had a lot more character, but recently the money and potential glory from other schools made him stray away from that.

I disagree. When losing, your first goal is to score to either take the lead or tie. Running the clock down is secondary.

You're missing one huge difference --

Neither one of those two got a UT offer after two years.

You can bet your ass both of them would have left if they did. Do you deny that?

So no, you cannot blame Herman.

I am very proud of our student athletes and their accomplishments here at UH over the last two years. Success brings opportunity. At the end of the year I will review my options, which includes staying here at UH.

What is so hard about that?

That's basically the long-winded version of "no comment".

Dana Holgerson, Sonny Dykes, Charlie Strong, Todd Orlando.

    That's the list.

I'd be happy with any of them.

Nook has no true inside scoop.

Except for internet forums and talking to fellow UH fans. But I seriously doubt he has a direct Level-1 connection with UH's BMDs.

Level-1 means you have *PERSONALLY* talked with someone like TF. And by talking, I mean one-on-one private conversation. Not a public speech or public event.

Not through a friend. Not through an acquaintence. Not from a friend of a friend. Not even through no-name UH employees who don't mean anything themselves.

Those would all be Level-2 / 3 / 4 etc, and not reliable.

That's basically the same thing as no comment. It's best to just stick with no comment.

I have already several times said where I get my information from. I am not a friend of Tom Herman (although I think he is an exceptional football coach/CEO). I get my information from the UH side. I don't get information from message boards of friends of a friend.

From the looks of it we had a contingency plan ready.

No time for heartache. There are good coaches out there ready to rock.

That could certainly be possible. But my point is those are not true Level-1 sources, unless it's someone like TF himself or TH himself.

I personally know some UT employees, but that doesn't mean they're Level-1 sources themselves. They're not the actual decision-makers.
