rim protection, picks and goes straight to the rim when they leave him. what else could you want? I'd like to see them get him someone to loosen his shoulders. that they're trying to bulk him up, his shoulders look two inches higher each week, reduces his arm mobility, impairs his already imperfect free throws, and will jack his back ala dmo. geez, guys, protect your investment. look at duncan for an example of open mobile shoulders. loosen Capella up please!!
You do realize that some of the best scouts ever are sometimes occasionally wrong about players, right?
Capela has been really impressive since the Spurs game, and he has faced some of the best C's. The guy is clearly a harder worker than I thought, it looks like he might continue to improve rapidly. One of the major gripes I had with him last season was his easily shaken confidence. He is looking much more confident this season in the way he is mentally approaching shotblocking and offensive rebounds. I see a guy who is believing he can outplay his counterpart on any night, and that's very good. He is going for more dunks than lay ins, and he is making quicker decisions on how to provide weakside help. He's 6th in blocked shots in the NBA (5th in blk %), and the 11th best rebounder in the NBA at the moment (total reb %). Aside from that, his FT form has looked very good in this span, though he is still not making enough. The fact that he works well with Harden makes me feel like this guy is a long term starter as long as we can get a semi decent defender at the 4. The days of defensive anchors in the NBA look to be over soon, and athletic versatile defenders like Capela are IN. Great job Clint.
If you didn't watch the game, you wouldn't know it but this was another good game for Capela. Cousins got hot and rushed up 4 onsecutive 3pters but Capela had done a tremendous job on him and the Rockets were up 20. Very impressed with his recent stretch of games against some of the best big men in the league. Still room to get stronger, gain more confidence. The game is slowing down for him, I was worried that wouldn't happen at all. His FT form is also looking good. He's a very decent starter this year but he will be an excellent player for this team for years to come if he's here. IMO he's also benefitting from a change in coaching staff at the perfect point where his development was stalling a bit.
While I'm enjoying seeing this young fellas growth but he's no Dwight. Dwight still could dominate both ends of the court like no other. Capela might be able to do that one day. Currently he really needs to rebound the ball better. Overall he is playing some solid basketball.
More importantly, he needs to work on his free-throws. He's making Dwight look like Steve Nash in comparison. At Capela's age, Dwight was shooting FTs at 59.4%, Capela is now at 44.4%.
Dwight got his ass handed to him by gobert last night the very same gobert clint dominated a few games back
He's 56% in his last 10 games, or 50% in his last 5. Form is looking good. I'm sure he will be a 60% FT shooter, which is enough to not be the target of hacking and still do some damage. He is, by the way, working on his FT's all the time, non stop. His 44.4% is a career high, which is bad, but it shows he continues to improve. He is doing what you claim he needs to do. Dwight is currently hitting 49% btw. The last time Dwight hit 59% Capela was in high school.
Dwight comparison is somewhat irrelevant and pointless really. I don't know why I even made it. Both of them are shooting free-throws very poorly. Hopefully Clint can improve on it. It doesn't even have to be 60%. Even something like 56-58% would be more than good enough.
You're the one ranting and raving about Dwights ability to dominate on " both sides of the ball" something that is false. Dwight has not been a dominante force on both sides of the ball since his Orlando days. Dwight on offense= disaster and even his defense has slipped. The only thing he still does well is rebound.
Agreed and yes...Dwight did get abused by Gobert a couple nights ago and I'll take this Capela over cry baby toxic Dwight any day of the week.
Last 5 games http://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/3102529/clint-capela pretty impressive if you think about the matchups. Capela is also shooting better fromt the ft line than Dwight, take away that awful 0-9 start (or whatever it was), he's shooting 52% in November.
Again - WHAT THE HELL are you talking about? I wasn't raving about anything. I wasn't saying anything about Dwight "dominating on both sides of the ball". Leard to read and STFU.
