The truth is that being in the Big 12 hurts the Longhorns. The SEC and the Big 10 are both stable conferences with better football. I think most people would say that the Texas job is better than the LSU job, but being in the SEC really helps LSU. LSU is a really good Job in a great conference. Things just seem unstable at Texas right now. Not surprised a coach might choose LSU over Texas. If that's what happened.
Just stopped in to say I'm SHOCKED. I can't even fathom Herman choosing LSU over Texas. That's embarrassing for you guys, but it's a bad look for the whole state. If Kelly doesn't sign-on, geez man. What the hell. ****. Dude would rather live in Saban's shadow AND play Saban every year than take the easy road to the playoffs in the Big 12. Crazy.
Chill out. This is just public negotiating. We don't play until Friday and it appears he's gonna make a decision by Saturday. If we want him (big IF) then he's likely still in play. No other reason to wait until Saturday if he wasn't.
Not necessarily relevant here because we don't actually know anything about Herman's decision, but great coaches/players don't look for "easy". They tend to like playing the highest level of competition.
I feel bad for Oregon. He's turned LSU around offense wise especially. All of this talk as he's owning the Ags on the road.
I don't see any real news here as far as Texas is concerned. If Herman is interested in Texas, he's not going to sign with LSU until hearing Texas out. It's not like LSU is going to move on and hire anyone else if he tells them to wait a few days. And if he's not interested in Texas, we weren't going to get him regardless if we fired Strong last week or this week.
Even if true, still leaves a window for UT to come in on Friday and pretty much start the bidding war all over again. So many reasons to leak this if you're Hermans camp. But LSU romping A&M is yet another wrinkle in this whole thing. But then again, it's Texas so who knows.
Positioning on Herman's part or not, this is still not right. You're ****ing TEXAS. You should be swinging dick, not letting UH's coach push you around. What a world.
How have they let Herman push them around? Have they fired their coach or rushed to hire him? Apparently they are waiting to see the results of the game tomorrow.
Ya still not sure which way this will go but LSU refuting the story and Coach O making as good as an argument for himself as he can, not sure if any one side made an impact tonight other than Coach O. Mod on Scout has been posting that Sumlin would be out with a loss to LSU. Now he's saying that they had told Herman he'd be their guy if they moved on. So throw in another hat?
Bingo. Also Texas has to be interested in Herman too. That part is still something people just assume. Herman may not be plan A on Texas' board if they decide to fire Strong.
Glad to see game day is here. This could be the last game for 9 months so try to enjoy it regardless of the circumstances.
