Well the Rockets better pray that Nene and Anderson stay healthy or they are screwed. Being cheap like this isn't always a killer, but it could end up being that way.

Time to move on. This thing just needs to be over for the sake of all the delusional Dmo fans here

Don't really understand Motiejunas' plan. He'll never get paid $7M in Europe or China and the longer he's out, the longer it will take him to get back into NBA rhythm. He's still Restricted and no other team will offer him a long term contract. So what's his ambition? Losing a whole year just to see history repeat itself next July?

I'd love to see him back though.

Well I imagine he'll have it a lot easier playing overseas where he can get his value back up and sign a MUCH larger deal next season. Like I said earlier, absolutely no reason to trust the Rockets FO or to give them any kind of deal.

makes no sense for such a mediocre player. playing overseas has little effect on his value. playing against guys who can't make it in the league or have been forced out does nothing for him besides let him collect checks. He just doesn't have confidence in himself for whatever reason enough to bet on himself. Could be understandable though for someone with horrible back injuries

Not sure how this should work out. Rockets would still hold his NBA rights. Best paid player in Europe last year was Shved with €10M in three years. That's nowhere near the numbers we hear. Plus, I think he's too competetive to waste prime years in minor leagues.

His best bet now is to go overseas and make a bit of money playing there. He'll be able to show NBA teams that he's healthy and that alone should get him some really good offers next off-season when RFA is open. Meanwhile, the Rockets will be praying that Anderson and Nene stay healthy somehow.

I don't really understand the no trade deadline thing

Could he just want to refuse being able to get traded so he didn't sign to only sign another deal so he could guarentee he wouldn't be traded?

Sure, Rockets would still have his rights, but he'd hit RFA again next off-season and be looking at offers much greater than were there this offseason if he can show he's healthy by playing.

Yep. This summer, we needed Dmo. At the moment we could still use him, but he'd be a luxury, an insurance plan against injuries. The hard necessity is not what it was 2-3 months ago.

What do you guys cant understand? Rockets were giving him player unfriendly contract, low money, multiple non guaranteed years, trade eligibility. Rockets are being cheap, no reason DMo should do them any favors after being traded by them already. Losing one year is not a big deal, might sing in Europe to lower financial hit and then next summer find other suitors, who'd offer more than shitty 1 year deal loaded with team option non guaranteed years on the back. And for piss poor 7 million, that's like twice less than what Rockets gave to brewer under old CBA and even he got guaranteed 3 years.

I'm sorry, but it's baffling to me that any poster would think DMO is justified in basically wanting a no-trade clause. Trust the front office? Are you kidding me? The front office shouldn't even bother to promise not to trade him. He isn't a superstar. I find it odd that a poster like Bobby would even think that DMO would be in a position to make such a demand.

European and CBA season is under way and teams don't have tons of money to spend, especially when they know that he wants to leave again in summer. They are also aware of his back problems and probably unwilling to take that risk. I bet if he had serious offers, he'd already be back on court.

How is he going to increase his value playing overseas over what he did last season and the playoffs? Teams didn't give him an offer after playing last year in the NBA, but will do so now playing in an inferior league?

If he really is...which is what i hope btw.

With that said, i think a healty D.Mo would really help us, but that plus alone isn't going to make us a better tier team imo, still a second round roster at best. And if Anderson goes down, i think it'll be a good chance to see what Dekker, Wiltjer and maybe even Trez can do in the starting lineup.

And what you and others like you can't seem to understand is that D-Mo is not getting better or at least what he wants. If he did, he would have signed it already and the Rockets would either match or cut bait. You can call the contract offer what you want, but as far as we all know thus far, that's the best he's got.

Brewer is not coming off a back injury that caused a trade to be rescinded. D-Mo is and hasn't proven diddly crap that he has moved on from that.
