true it could be flawed but in the case of OKC where we didn't score a bucket in the last 6 minutes of the game for example I'll take my logic

I get what your saying...just that DMo adds to the bench. Another shooter/post up rebounder...def would've beats the heck outta having Ennis coming off the bench any day of the week in my opinion anyways

Scratch off the rebounding because dude was horrible at it. Last season when Dmo came back he three point shooting dropped tremendously and his post game was not the same. Everybody seen that, thus the reason why nobody but the Rockets gave him an offer.

I feel confident DMO can score 2-4 points a game and grab at least 2 rebounds tho...he's averaged better than that in the past...I'll take average DMO over terrible Ennis crapping on the court coming off the bench all day.

I'm tired of even asking about DMo, but an ear mentioned December as a cutoff date. He's holding out for his own reasons, but the 8 mill figure I mentioned long ago, or the 7 mill being reported now is fair.

It's more about the money. It includes what he/agent thinks role should be, resentment over the Det trade/physical debacle and the belief that playing overseas and returning back to the NBA will help his cause.

I'm not claiming this as happening, but unless something drastic happens, I don't see DMO returning to Houston. It will be difficult for him to adapt to the offense, find minutes and swallow his pride.

The dude is talented, undoubtedly, but this is beyond ridiculous. Not Royce #BeWell ridiculous, but damn ridiculous. How many times did I use ridiculous? :)

He needs to start playing or he will be a career project. Sure, he could help us, but he doesn't win games for us. I'll take a vet in FlyRy (who is so mentally strong for what he's been through) and his game over DMo at this point. Eventually, he's going to find easier ways to score and that 3 point shot will spread the floor in ways we've needed for years.

I'm done with this topic until something changes. As I've written,it's been damn stagnant since I've been sick (slight exaggeration, but it
s quiet, and I don't hear it as a Morey smoke screen.)

Come back if you want, DMo.Just know that you have to earn your minutes over guys who may be less talented, but who have put in work with less money.

Happy Thanksgiving and say a prayer for Brewer to make a jumper. :)

    Thanks, Cod.

So, in summary, you're setting up a Brew v DMo total jump shots made thread? Just kidding, of course.

Seriously, it sounds like this year overseas with a summer trade as a likely outcome?

Mr. Cod thank you for the real update. Now let's get to the nitty gritty.

MDA said he wanted Dmo back so he was going to get his minutes and touches. But I guess this joker wants to start. Man good grief, do what's best for the team for crying out loud. See this is why I said cut ties with this dude.

Resentment over the Pistons Trade, well I be be damned. Well bounce joker, we don't need your bleep anyways.

$7-$8 million seems very fair when u consider his back problems and extremely low production this last season. The kid just needs to swallow his pride and come back into the fold but it's obviously not looking good.

Makes you wonder if this was DMO's mindset all along or if agent BJ poisoned the kids mind with BS. I don't know DMO. But I would have guesses he would not have gone this direction unless someone convinced him and got him emotionally riled up.

Thanks for the nuggets Cod. I don't know you. But cancer took my father when I was 8. So do me a solid and go whip it's a** for me.

Today's the last day players can sign and still be traded this NBA season so Houston will try to seal a Donatas Motiejunas deal by day's end

Actually, at this point, assuming D-Mo were to be "done" with the Rockets, he can never be signed-and-traded by the Rockets. A team cannot sign-and-trade its players once the regular season begins. Also, a team can no longer sign-and-trade players who did not play for that team during the previous season (the so-called "Keith Van Horn Rule").

The only way for the Rockets to be able to sign-and-trade D-Mo would be if he re-signed with the team and then Houston signed-and-traded him at the end of that deal.

    @BimaThug

But remember, the sly basketballholic says we will do a Trade-n-Sign as a way to circumvent the no SnT rules of the CBA.
    • We make the trade part first which is wildly in our favor,
    • then DMo signs with the team who did the trade with us, and
    • Morey doesn't match as a quid-pro-quo promise.
    • The no match promise balances out the trade.
Of course, that whole scenario puts a wrench in his claim that DMo will "get his money" (i.e. something over $10 or even $12m), because Morey wouldn't match that anyhow, so why would Team X do the trade part of the deal in our favor. And if the trade was an even trade, why would Morey promise to *not* match.

The exact same thing that Cod had heard is what Smitty had heard. That DMO though healthy right now, and liking MDA and his system has personal problems with how he he was handled by the Rockets.

They said teh new CBA will be released on the week of December 5th so maybe then we will know what will happen.

Looks like Dmo is indeed scared of the wolves contrary to his bold opening statement.

Sign up DMo, Mike Anthony needs you.

Nu, there's not a 'reset' after the season ends? Wowsers. This wicket is stinky sticky!

Can anyone explain what in the new CBA could entice DMo to sit an entire season? What in there is worth that?

It's not good enough to say the CBA is taking steps to give RFAs equal footing to UFAs on market-offers. The changes have to materially help DMo's position, not just RFAs in general.

    Here's all I know:

    • The MLE rumored to go up substantially to >$8m.
      • Reason to Help: More teams could make offers
      • Reason won't Help: DMo wants much more than that, so needs a team with cap-room
    • RFA's can sign on July 1st
      • Reason to Help: RFAs on even-playing field with UFAs to get the early cap-room money
      • Reason won't Help: DMo is not highly sought enough for teams to use early cap-room money on him. No matter whether UFA or RFA, DMo might not be signed by teams using early money on Plan A and Plan B free agents, anyhow. He's probably second-third-choice signing after Moratorium regardless of UFA or RFA status. Might actually hurt DMo, because big name RFAs will be locked up during the Moratorium with UFAs, so money dries up faster.
    • Teams can no longer rescind QO's to RFAs once offered
      • Reason to Help: Don't understand how this helps. Maybe players are more likely to be UFAs instead of getting QOs???
      • Reason won't Help: Don't see how this helps DMo.
I suppose there is no harm in waiting, unless, of course, Morey isn't bluffing about today's deadline.
