If they do fire Strong ASAP, who coaches the team on Friday? One of the assistant coaches, Tom Herman, Perrin?
Have never used twitter before but I'd sure love to tag Perrin in everyone one of those (if that's possible). Ridiculous how incompetent you'd have to be to mess up the easiest firing there is. Announce it today or tomorrow morning and everyone understands clearly and completely. UT just painted themselves into a corner where nothing can be announced until Friday. Strong should stand the media up at tomorrow's presser and ask Perrin to take his spot.

Bel Believe what you want, but his name would never be brought up if that wasn't the case. There's about one reason he was called into that, and there's about a million why they would cave and not go through. So applewhite slept with a single adult? Big f'n deal. People forget students are adults. You can split hairs all day over what is worse, but what is clear is Strong is not Mr. Values, which is the main reason for the praise he gets. I don't give a crap if a coach has an affair, but I don't like hypocrisy

Charlie strong is going to get paid 10 mil for sucking. The big 12 has sucked yet he can't win in a down league. I think I saw somewhere where he has the worst record of any ut coach. Good riddance.
I know we just went through several pages of arguing about Texas' internal problems/politics/culture. Though it's clear UT has problems on the field, I think it's hard to deny now that something is really screwy upstairs in Austin. Potential HC candidates have had to watch the last 3 years and be left wondering if the money is really worth it.

I think most HC candidates don't think they will have an overall losing record, and will happily take the money. Especially since they don't have to do a full rebuild.

If the players want so badly for him to stay, they should come out and guarantee that they will make a new years bowl next season.
