Great game by Capela especially against the best rim protector in the league. Utah is such a boring team.
That between the legs -> cross twice he does is his main set up move. He goes to that often whether it results in a drive or shot. The counter he threw was the hesitation then back to the b/t -> cross, hesitation again then step back. That first jab step he took coming off the cross it was over.
Decent game overall. Capela looking nice. Nice little hook shot, rim protection, not getting pushed around as much, and he has hands like a WR. Harden with the usual great game. He and Capela mix together well. Gordon was great. He really allows Harden extra rest on the court and on the bench. Nene put in work durong his 17 minutes. That's a perfect amount for him. Rockets have a log jam in their lineup. MDA typically plays an 8-man rotation. Nine guys played tonight and none were Harrell or KJ. Depth is good. Hopefully Trevor is okay... and Brewer plays less.
Exum tried to play Harden tough until the game was over... I respect that. He also got a harsh reminder of why Harden is considered by his peers as the undisputed best 1v1 scorer in the league. At least he didn't slip, fall, and lose his soul like Rubio did.
Great to see us bounce back against the old rivals. Bev gave extra swagger to the team. Go Houston Rockets!
Another great win. Harden came out swinging and ended the game with a dagger three off the sweet ankle breaker against Exum. Man where did Capela get these moves from. The big fellas game is getting better right before our very eyes. I love Gordon's game.
Btw I think having Bev back really gives the team a boost, he's the perfect guy alongside trigger happy guys like Harden and Gordon. We just need to bring back Dmo or get something for him and this team would be awesome barring injuries.
I noticed something odd about the Jazz uniforms. They don't have the yellow tab on the back collar. Oh, wait. I forgot they never won a championship. (Not really. I just like pointing out that the Jazz suck.)
Bev is literally the only other playmaker on the team. Like he is the only one that can get more than five assists a game outside of Harden lol.
I know with Beverley back he's not needed as much, but I'm still not a fan of Ennis getting zero minutes. He's been better lately after a rough start to the year, & if he's playing acceptably it's another ball handler which the Rockets aren't flush with. Also just for his development, I just don't agree with him not seeing the court at all, especially in a game that was pretty well in hand most of the way. Beverley is also extremely injury prone, so you don't want Ennis rusty from never playing if he's immediately forced into duty if Pat gets hurt again.
Gordon averages over 3 assists a game for his career (including a year with 4.4/gm), so he's capable in that department. Although he has been trending downwards in assists in the past couple of years. It would be nice if he could pick up the playmaking slack a bit and take at least a little burden off of Harden in that area.
