Scarlett Fakhar fired from FOX 26 because of political views

TV and radio stations typically have morals clauses in their contracts with on-air talent. This is not surprising at all. I would be more surprised if they didn't fire her.

My station also has morals clauses and I'm not on-air at all. I could be severely punished or fired for saying the wrong thing on social media as well.

 

Clearly you don't work for KTCK "The Ticket"--I listen for the LACK of morals, lol.

Her original post was hilarious though. Look at how Obama has made us hate Mexicans, blacks, and want to wipe off the earth the entire Muslim religion & the people who practice that faith, or simply just come from, or whose ancestors came from a Country in the middle east where that religion is practiced. This. As a spokesperson for the organization, what she says on her private Facebook reflects on the company. They have a reasonable concern about controlling the messaging and probably put it in her contract. I have no cares for someone fired for violating the terms of their employment.

I'm sympathetic on some level, but she had to know she wasn't allowed to do that, especially if she wasn't going to push a left wing agenda.

Fox 26 was around for a decade before Fox News, in fact to Fox TV's credit they've always had autonomous and well-produced local news operations all over the country. They use the full hour since they don't broadcast nationwide after 9:00 pm central, because their dramatic programming would probably get crushed by the big three.

Really? I would love to see those cases because if it's an at-will state you can fire someone without cause so long as it does not pertain to gender, sex, religion, race, or disability. Political views are not protected and you can fire someone for party affiliation.

Private companies operating within their rights to fire employees is not silencing political speech. She still has her FB account. She can go on saying whatever she wants. Having liberals disagree with you is not silencing free speech. They need to stop crying every time somebody disagrees with them.

Of some of the bizarre narratives on the right, the most mysterious one to me is how everyone supposedly hates each other more because of Obama. Obama made race relations worse? What, exactly, is the evidence of this?
